I haven’t worn makeup in months. While I do get flare ups, my skin is much clearer. But I do kinda miss eyeshadow and mascara. But when I go out I’m wearing a mask and I have feeling wearing a mask over foundation isn’t a good idea. So, be honest with me Greecies. How insane would I look if I wore eyeshadow/eyeliner, mascara, and blush? 1 being “Not insane at all!” and 10 being “Are you drunk?” Nope. I started experimenting with putting highlighter on my eyes this week. If I were still wearing the surgical masks, I would seriously consider getting one of these brackets. It's like a bustle for your mask. Since it supposedly prevents the mask from sticking to your face, you should be able to wear lipstick underneath without messing it up. I miss wearing lip color most of all. I have those. I like them. I have to talk a lot at work and sometimes I felt like I was eating my mask. The brace thingy prevents that.

So on The Social (a talk show in Canada like The View) in a beauty segment, it was mentioned that women should part their hair in the middle or risk aging themselves. That is, a side part makes you look older. Is that a thing right now? I always though centre parts or side parts depended on face shape and hair texture.

That is, a side part makes you look older. Is that a thing right now? I always though centre parts or side parts depended on face shape and hair texture. It's a thing because Gen Z people made Tiktoks that hair parted on the side is out and middle part is in. I honestly don't care. My hair is naturally straight, so when I keep my hair straight, I part my hair off-center, otherwise I look like a hippie. When I curl my hair to make it a little wavy, I part in the middle. I would do what makes you feel beautiful. Middle parts don't work on everyone, I think it makes some people look more tired or ages them or also gives them a horse face. I also think it depends on your hairstyle. Short bob? Middle part would probably work on anything. Long hair? Follow face shape. "Curtain bangs" are back in too. Or as I called them in the early 2000s when I rocked them, "long bangs." ETA: the tiktok regarding middle part for hair also addressed that skinny jeans are out. It's 80s jeans that are back in. I always based my pants on what I was actually wearing. Flowy top? Probably skinny jeans. When I was more fit and wore fitted tops, I'd wear jeans that were a bit more loose fitting. I'm a child of the 90s, think of baby tees and baggy pants as my go to fashion choices. Lol Also, Gen z'ers said the laughing-crying emoji is out. And that is when I officially knew that they have no idea what they're talking about. Life will either make you laugh or cry or both. They just haven't been at that stage in their life.

I have a cowlick in the front, so a middle part has never worked on me.
Please for the love of Pete, I hope they do not resurrect low-rise jeans.

I have curly/wavy hair. It parts itself where it wants when it feels like it. Gen Z be damned.

This is crazy to me because I'm well into my 30s and I've been middle-parting my whole life. I tried to do a side part once but my hair wouldn't hold it unless I used a lot of gel, which made me look like Hitler. But I also have super long hair so I always thought my middle part made me look like an elf from Middle Earth, or the forest witch who eats children. I decided these were superior to looking like Hitler.
If they bring back low rise jeans, that'll be a hell no from me. JNCOs on the other hand, they looked ridiculous but they were super comfy.

I wore low-rise jeans back in the 60s/70s, when they were called hip-huggers. I am thereby absolved from ever having to wear them again.
My conveniently placed hairline cowlick dictates where my side part goes.

I’m cursed with a cowlick too, so no middle part for me. A middle part seems to look best on those with really symmetrical features. As for jeans, the current in-style Gen Z look seems to be high waisted, wide leg and cropped, which would make me look like a rectangle. I wonder if flattering clothing will ever be back in style.

On the one hand, you're definitely not going to catch me in the jeans the young people are wearing these days. ( but also really) On the other hand: fuck flattering! I really, really dislike the notion that women should feel obligated to wear clothing that makes them look as conventionally attractive as possible at all times and I think some Gen Z fashion is an excellent response to that. It's definitely a notion I find myself buying into a lot, but it's ridiculous and I wish I didn't. Let us all look like paunchy rectangles if we want to.

I’m just saying for me personally, I feel better when I don’t look like a rectangle.
