My husband and son wash their Tilley’s in the washer all the time. I didn’t realize there were different types of Tilley’s! I might have to get a stylish one for my large head! I’ve only seen the type my guys have.

I’ve only seen the type my guys have. The sales person in the hat store said that you can wash them in the top rack of your dishwasher. I worry the heat would shrink them, but apparently that is one way, and I do imagine they would keep their shape better in the dishwasher rather than tumbling around in the washing machine

Ok, I did it! I just ordered the Melanie* in natural. We need to arrange a Greecie Zoom call where we all talk to each other while wearing our matching hats. I did, too! I'm looking forward to wearing it, especially at the State Fair.

If anyone is looking for a new facial moisturizer, I have one to recommend!
I've been looking for just the right one for a really long time. I decided to try out Clinique's new (or new to me, at least) Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly. I don't know why I decided to give it a try, really, because the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion always caused me to break out. But, I am really glad I did. I like that it has no dyes or perfume (maybe that's why it doesn't cause break outs!) and it has a cooling and soothing feel. It soaks right into my skin with no greasy or oily feel to it.
I decided to invest in SuperGoop sunscreen. Haven't tried it out yet, but I will soon. I'm actually moving to FL this summer so I feel I really need to up my skincare/sunscreen regimen.

I think I've chronicled my scalp issues here - trying many different shampoos, both liquid and bars, trying to find something that won't irritate the crap out of my scalp (basically, my dermatologist doesn't know if it is psoriasis or some sort of allergy/sensitivity, but most products irritate the hell out of my scalp leaving it flaky and itchy as hell). I almost hesitate to give this product credit, because most things eventually stop working for me. But this shampoo/conditioner feels different - more than anything else I've used. Generally, I find stuff that my scalp tolerates, but this stuff makes my scalp feel better. What I found is Seen shampoo and conditioner (Ulta just started carrying it, but you can also get it on their website). It is a line started by a dermatologist who saw that a lot of her patients had acne on their scalp/hairline and on their back, and figured out that their shampoo/conditioner was the culprit. So she set out to create a haircare line that is also nice to your skin. So when I started using it, the flakiness was resolved almost immediately. I haven't had a shampoo clear up the flakiness like that unless it was used in conjunction with a salicylic acid treatment. After about three weeks, the itch was almost completely gone (and my scalp basically used to itch constantly). So just the mild, occasional itch I feel now is a minor miracle. I think it is stupidly overpriced (it's $29 for an 8 ounce bottle), but I'll be damned if it isn't working. If your scalp is a total bastard like mine is, it might be worth a shot (I have only tried the fragrance-free version since fragrance is usually one of my scalp's triggers).

Ooh, I want to give it a try! Is it gentle on your hair, kostgard?

Ooh, I want to give it a try! Is it gentle on your hair, kostgard? It is. That's what surprised me the most - with the way it cleared up the flakiness on the scalp, I thought it would be harsh like the acidic products I've used or the way Neutrogena's T-Sal shampoo strips/dries the shit out of my hair. It doesn't feel all that fancy going on, but it treats your hair well. And honestly, I thought the conditioner wasn't going to get it done, either, because it doesn't feel that moisturizing when you put it on (I'd say I have mildly dry hair). But using it and adding a light hair oil (that I normally use anyway - this one) and my hair feels nice. I think if your hair is on the dryer side, the conditioner might not be enough, but they just came out with a "deeper" conditioner that might work.

I have also had scalp issues for years. Kind of a build up a scaly skin no matter what shampoo/conditioner I have used. Miraculously when I switched to Jack 59 shampoo and conditioner my scalp has been perfect. It is not at all like the shampoo conditioner bars from Lush (those aggravated the issue tbh). There are so many positives to this stuff: plastic free, sulfate-free, not too expensive (the bars last months and months) AND a woman-owned and indigenous-owned business. So many wins! Any way, just my little addition to the above.

Thanks so much for the flaky scalp recommendations! I've been having problems for the past year or so, and I can't wait to try your suggestions!
I haven't been wearing much makeup of late--honestly, I'm down to just under-eye concealer, a smidge of eyeliner on the top lid, and mascara. Tinted sunscreen if I'm leaving the house. I've also been using Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Water gel, and I love it--it's a little gloppy, but a little goes a long way, and the cooling effects on my skin are wonderful, especially as we're starting to heat up here in Texas.
By the way, how long has it been since any of us have worn lip color? Well over a year here...

Not like anyone can see it when I go out.
