On the spironolactone, my understanding is that it can keep your hair from thinning and eases the facial hair too (once again, blocking testosterone is key here.) I'm actually thinking of trying it for that though since it may somewhat lower blood pressure (I think that's what it was originally for, but may not work that well hence all the off-label usage), I'm not sure how my body will fair. The only other side effect I've heard is a possible lowered sex drive due to less testosterone, but most docs think that it's minor, if at all.

Thanks for the hand cream recommendations. Since there is a L'Occitane store near where I work I decided to get their dry skin hand cream and it has been working pretty well. Also, the L'Occitane store is completely seductive, I don't know how they got me to spend so much money when I only went in for hand cream. However, I'm the best smelling person in the office.

I know, right? I loooove their verbena stuff so much, but it's so expensive. And my boyfriend loves their men's colognes, which are actually pretty reasonably priced, for cologne.

L'Oreal's Youth Code Day Cream is the shit, y'all. It is the first cream I've found that doesn't leave me feeling all kinds of greasy, just soft and hydrated, and it has a 30 SPF, which is great in Tucson. Smoother, softer skin, and if I'm not mistaken it also has a dark spot corrector.
eta- also doesn't make me break out.

Help! Can anyone recommend a dressy-casual shoe that is really comfortable to walk in for longer distances? I'm gearing up for my trip to Paris at the end of May, and I would like to buy a shoe that would be appropriate for touring the Louvre and Palace of Versailles while also keeping me from limping through them. I want to pack lightly, so I'm hopping to find a pair that will work for everything, including an extensive walking tour. Thanks in advance!

I just bought these in pink--they are incredibly comfortable (with NIKE Air insoles!) and cute, and you can dress them up or down. Well worth the money.

Great suggestions, ladies! Those are what I had in mind, but I was just getting frustrated looking at hundreds of shoes. Off to order some shoes to try. Thanks again.

Gigiree, there happened to be a pair of the Børn flats at TJ Maxx today, and while they do have arch support, it's not awesome. I rescind my nomination of them. OK--I have a wild hair to dye my hair scary pink. My job is officially ending in a few weeks, and I'm having a bit of an identity crisis, and I have a sympathetic magic notion that if I radically alter the appearance, that is precisely the time I will start getting calls for interviews. So...someone either talk me out of it, or give me advice. I'm thisclose to scheduling an appointment at the Aveda school.
