Does anyone here use a Clarisonic face brush? I bought a Mia 2 and my face is hardly radiant. In fact, my skin looks downright unhappy. I've got sensitive red blotches on my cheeks and chin even though I don't use much pressure or keep the brush in one spot very long.
Is it normal to have a breaking in period?

A face brush? That sounds unnecessarily harsh for exfoliating. It's probably like dermabrasion or chemical peels, where the skin needs time to recover.
What do people think of botox? It seems like, reading magazines geared towards middle-aged+, that botox is supposed to be a normal part of the modern woman’s beauty routine. And I don't mean the celebs and the wealthy ladies-who-lunch, but the mags talk like making your botox appt. is just part of aging for Jane Average. Is it? Am I out of the loop?
It's crazy expensive, plus it seems like we’re avoiding toxins everywhere in life – food, lawn care, beauty products, household cleaners – and then we’re supposed to inject them into our face like it’s normal? Am I missing something? Does anyone here do it?

I use the bargain-basement Olay version, Kanding -- the brush is pretty soft. How stiff is the Clarisonic brush?

I consider myself a middle-aged (52) Jane Average, one who wears makeup and tries to take good care of her skin in general, and I don't use Botox. I don't know anyone else who uses it, either. It may be common in other parts of the country, or among people in a higher socioeconomic class than I am, but my circle doesn't do it.

Has any had any shoes from Banana Republic? I'm coveting these boots[/color] but my local store doesn't have them and I'd have to order them. I have a 30% off discount code, but they're still pricey so I'm waffling.

Mugsy, my sister has had Botox and she likes it quite a bit. I've never had it, but I'm put off by the fact that it fills in and "freezes" the area injected. The effect isn't pretty in my opinion. I've had Restylane, but only around my mouth. That's about all I really want to spend on injectables.
My sister lives in Atlanta, and it seems to be pretty common there for women to schedule regular fillers. If it's common here in my neck of the woods, no one talks about it.
Sunnyhorse, the brush came with a sensitive brush head. I'm just going to stop for a few days and start up slowly. It says that you can use it twice a day, but I obviously can't.
I've bought Banana Republic shoes before, batmom, but years ago. The quality was pretty good, but I've noticed that their prices now seem a little steeper than before.

FWIW, a friend's wife designs purses for Banana, and they raised prices and quality in an attempt to get into the higher end market, so at least the quality should be there. Those are really cute.

I do have a purse from them that I adore. I got it for my birthday last year and haven't stopped using it. Gah. I'm so tempted. I suppose that I can return them to the store if they don't work...

Nobody in my family has gotten Botox, well except for my Aunt, who spent one memorable wedding reception hiding her mouth as the botox had slipped from her forehead, to her mouth.
We still mock her for that. Because we're kind and loving.

Thanks for all the botox input. I always found it funny that celebs who yammer on about eating only organic food and body cleanses and such would get botox. It seems rather counterproductive.
I can't see spending money on such a thing; I don't know how much it is, but I assume several hundred dollars every three or four months. I'd rather spend that kind of money on a plane ticket and enjoy the age I am rather than trying to be an age I'm not.
