How utterly humiliating. Fortunately, no one was hurt so no tragedy resulted from their actions beyond the blow to Reese's tightly controlled image. I figured she was too smart to make it a point of lecturing others about smart behavior only to then turn around and do something so colossally stupid.

According to the CNN article, they were arrested Friday at 3:30 a.m. and in custody until Saturday morning. Can that be right? More than 24 hours in custody? If so, I wonder what took so long.

TMZ says they were only in custody a few hours. They were arrested Friday night at 3:30 and released a few hours later, Saturday morning.

They were arrested Friday morning (the 19th.) It's on the incident report. Could they really have been in custody til Saturday morning? That would explain why none of it came to light til Sunday, I guess.

I reallllly hope there is video.

“Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now,” Reese said. “But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”
