I do think she and Ryan were on the rocks for quite a while and they feigned a happy marriage because she was hell bent on getting that oscar. Some of the projects she is currently associated with sound very Oscar baity so I'm sure now with the husband and new baby she'll be gunning for Oscar #2.
She's always struck me as somewhat of a cold fish so while I have no trouble picturing her back stabbing her way to the top I can't quite see her sleeping her way to the top.

Hm. Yeah, there are some things that fit with Reese Witherspoon, but mostly not. Husband? ok, but they were married really young and she was pregnant - not exactly H'wood glamour material. I think she and Ryan feigned (or she feigned) a happy marriage because they have two kids. The racist stuff plays on the fact that she's from Tennessee, was raised in a middle/upper middle class home so of course she's suspect. That's just bullshit.
I think you sleep your way into a few films, but not the top. Reese Witherspoon is an excellent actress. I was about to compare her to Meryl Streep, as in maybe she's no Meryl Streep, but then I realized this BI could have been about Meryl Streep.
I find it interesting that there aren't many BIs about male stars who are asses, druggies, sluts or racists.

I have no idea whether or not Reese is racist, either just a little or flamboyantly so, but I do find it interesting that the ongoing conversation about limited roles for actresses of color in mainstream films is kind of merged with this BI.

She looks HORRIBLE on the latest people cover! Dark roots showing, wrinkly, squinty, with a Joker chin. Even her skin looks weird.

Yep. That is it. Strange that her stylist would recommend a dress that had such a high profile. If I recognise it, you can be sure the truly fashion conscious would know it instantly. Yeah, I am being petty...but don't you have a stylist to avoid such situations?

Especially as she was dinged once before for wearing a dress that had already been "seen" on another carpet. It had been worn by Kirsten Dunst to some awards show and then a few yes later Reese wore it (I think during all the walk the line award shows) with her stylist claiming it was vintage Chanel. Apparently it was a major fashion faux pas being neither vintage or unseen on the awards show circuit.
I like the earrings. No posing with the hubby? For some so driven and Type A he strikes me as too laid back and douchey for her but maybe she's decided she likes being the boss in the relationship.
