Jenny has canceled her tour to spend more time with her family.
Good luck with all that, I guess.
Which summer Friday afternoon will the divorce be announced? I'm thinking July 5.

Her press release the day after Independence Day? Does she want a possibility of the media not being on her time?

I can guarantee that JLo has a documentary crew camera filming her at this very moment as she bravely and forlornly faces her career and marital drama.

I am torn. I giggle with the schadenfreude, but the part of me that likes Jlo feels bad about her troubles (and yes, I still think "Eh, she'll survive and wipe her tears with thousand dollar bills.")

I just realized, canceling her concert tour probably means that the Vegas residency is also canceled. Which got canceled first? The Vegas residency? or the tour? I think canceling is just about saving face since the tour wasn't selling well anyway. I am torn. I giggle with the schadenfreude, but the part of me that likes Jlo feels bad about her troubles Since no part of me likes JLo I am not torn one bit. I just think about how arrogant she was when she came on the scene, how she trash talked other actresses, how she's treated people on set to badly, how she's taken other people's vocals, and worst of all stole tips from waiters and waitresses. I think the Karma bus is finally catching up to her.

Time to put on my tinfoil hat, but maybe JLo and Ben are staging this "marital breakdown" to distract from her recent professional failures? I wondered the same thing. I'm not sure she'd want to admit marriage trouble, but I could see her allowing the speculation to go on just so she doesn't have to admit bad sales. If it is the case I expected they'll be stopped together soon looking happy and she'll hope people will be like, oh they are together after all, and then hope everyone forgets about the cancelled tour.

On GMA this morning, they reported she just cancelled the summer tour, but it brings the question about the status of the Las Vegas residency. They also mentioned all the people now out of work because of the tour being cancelled…..

I was late to the story when the JLo backlash hit a couple of months ago. One of the stories I read about it said JLo's greatest love has always been her career and her image, so of course she would exploit her relationship with Ben in service of it the second he gave her the go-ahead. I felt like that tracked.
When Tom and Lorenzo discussed this on their podcast a few weeks ago, Tom pointed out that Jennifer has zero self awareness of how the public really perceives her. She'd had a comfortable, successful career for a B-list star in her 50s with the judge gig on American Idol and her cop show. But when she reunited with Ben and the public kind of went bonkers over it, she seemed to embrace her apparent belief that she was on the level of Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Madonna by releasing the documentary and a huge tour. She's been telling us all for decades what a huge star she is but suddenly the public decided to let her know that she's not that great. I've never really liked her but in recent years I'd come to respect her work ethic, but I have to confess I find this whole thing really funny. It's never not funny when someone with an overblown sense of themselves gets taken down a notch or two. I don't like it that this seems to happen with women much more than men, but I can't say JLo didn't have it coming.
TLo compared it to Ellen DeGeneres, who had that super nice image for a long time but once there was a crack in the facade, all of the bad stories started coming out and she's never recovered. JLo's a different situation so I'm sure after things die down she'll find some way to relaunch herself.

Doing a full-scale tour that centers all her music hits was certainly a miscalculation. Her catalogue of hit singles is not as extensive (or as memorable/iconic) as Madonna's or Janet Jackson's. I mean, I wanna say that, at most, Jlo has had...what, 7, 8, 9 big hits? While the above mentioned women, who can sustain concert tours, have had over thirty big hits each and hundreds of millions of records sold. Not to mention that, despite people like Madonna having pop culture influence that goes beyond music, she still is best known for being a singer. Jlo has had iconic several iconic pop culture moments but none of those had had anything to do directly with her music (her infamous green dress "wardrobe malfunction," the whole Bennifer thing, the Movieline interview). At the end of the day, Jlo's "main gig" is being an actress (some would say it's not even that lol).

JLo is mediocre in acting, singing and dancing.
