I agree- tickets for concerts have gotten out of hand. Obviously I think there's some artists who've been kicking around for decades who can command the prices. And Taylor Swift selling out football stadiums for 3 nights in a row can do it.. but for others? Nah. I saw a thing for a Sarah McLaughlin concert this summer and I said to myself "oh that would be a good one to take my daughter to.. it's chill, I can relive Lilith Fair of my youth.." then I saw the prices and I was like "She's building a mystery of how they think 150 bucks for nose bleeds is gonna happen"

I just saw Sarah McLachlan in Toronto. My ticket was $125. Excellent seats, very close to the stage. It was a great show. Aside from that though, I rarely go to concerts though. I think of how I could listen to their music at home with an expensive bottle of wine. I think the last one I saw was Adele, several years ago.
I definitely wouldn’t pay to see JLo.

The last concert I went to was on The White Stripes' final tour (Agganis Arena in Boston), and it was soooo good!
For me, it really has to be beyond amazing for me to even think of attending. I truly wished I could've gone to Kendrick Lamar's Juneteenth concert; I could just feel the energy through my crappy cell phone!
J Lo is also a J No for me as a concert goer.

I think the price of concert tickets is a huge part of this - along with JLo's ego which probably demands prices as high as possible to show she's on par with Beyonce and Taylor.
And I can honestly say, (as much as it pains me) I saw her perform at one of the iHeart Summer Bash concerts and she put on a fun performance for the three or four songs she lipsynced. But there are very few people I'd pay $3-400 for a concert ticket for these.
Though I did fly to Vegas to see Michael Buble lol

I did pay over $250 tickets, the most I've ever spent, but that $250 was for Madonna, whom I had never seen before, and have been a fan since the beginning. (I love you, my Queen.)
Jennifer would be worth paying, say, $50 to $75, because she must have a large team, but she's no Madonna!

I love lots of her early stuff! She was the bomb in the aughts! Everyone wanted her hair colour, including me. I have irrational love for Play — I still love the video and her moves in it. Makes me wanna go clubbing and dance my heart out. Yes! Love her or hate her (especially as a "singer"), but nobody can deny that in 1999 she was just an up-n-coming actress whose pop culture presence truly coalesced/exploded when she started dominating the music charts. True, she never could sing, but it was her pop music stardom what put her on the map and made Hollywood take notice of her. Anyway, as mean-girlish as she's always been, I still think that the hate that she gets online seems performative and forced. I'm sure that a lot of people have valid reasons to despise her, but like we all know, the internet is also full of grifters who will jump on any trend for clicks and monetization (which is ironic since Jlo herself is like that LOL). Right now, it's once again trendy to "hate on" Jlo. And I bet she is fine with that, since it still keeps her name in people's minds/mouths/keyboards.

Watching the local news this morning with my almost 90 year old mom who has Alzheimer’s and they teased a story about how JLo celebrated her birthday and she looks at me at says “Why is this a news story?” Heh. Good question mom.
Leave her alone, she’s 55!

Having a birthday party themed after Bridgerton seems remarkable tone deaf if she was trying to appeal to the 99% by NOT flying private. Then again, I've heard JLo's music, so tone deaf seems appropriate. Also, no Ben at the party.

But it's not difficult to see how wildly different her lifestyle is from Ben's. And their two lifestyles seem pretty incompatible. My dream birthday party would be to take myself and all of my friends and family to Tuscany. No costumes are required, LOL.
