ABC also REALLY needs to stop airing things out of production order. So many really obvious continuity errors and differences in tone/writing/etc. between the eps from the first season they pushed back and the current ones.
Which, sitcoms aren't self-contained anymore in a post-Arrested Development, post-HIMYM world. Continuity and serial storylines are becoming just as important as they are in dramas so throwing episodes at the wall at random is not gonna work.
(The MOST hilarious example of this? I recently burned through all of 'Samantha Who?' - really charming, very underrated, etc - on Netflix and OMG, so much bizarro continuity. A character played Timothy Olyphant gets played by Billy Zane in S2. Downgrade! And huh?)
