I liked parts of the last episode, but still want to be rid of the Bingo spy agency nonsense and all that goes with it. I felt a little grief at Cyrus' public breakdown and Scott Foley's character staying with Novak. Of course, you reap what you sow, so it was for Novak that I ultimately felt bad. All of the 'good' characters are being killed off - David save yourself! Also, go Mellie! Get some with Fritzy from the Closer!
I only watched a few episodes of Grey's Anatomy before figuring out that it wasn't for me, so I'm not aware of Rimes' pattern of show degradation. The ridiculous monologues with dramatic pauses really need to go. Who regularly talks that way?

The flashback of the relationship was well done and made me feel sad for Cyrus. BUT then I remembered that Cyrus put a hit on David at one time, and that when he was considering having him killed, he manipulated him and used him and generally treated him like absolute shit. As has been pointed out, the fact that nearly every character is a selfish asshole is a bit of a problem.

I guess they want me to stop watching because WHY DID THEY KILL OFF JAMES? He was the only person I liked.

I don't know why I still watch this show. Everyone on it is terrible. I just caught up. I was three weeks behind because I couldn't get past that scene where Olivia was screaming about being a prize at the county fair and Fitz was screaming about a fox in the henhouse. For some reason that scene was where I just gave up. This show is officially a chore for me.

Did you make sure to watch to the end of the scene? There was a totally (NOT) surprising passionate grab-kiss with lots of head bobbing and wide open mouths. That's the only kind of kissing there is on Scandal. Apparently a relationship isn't meaningful unless somebody gets pushed against a wall or thrown onto a piece of furniture.

Damn, he knocked that guy out! They're prob not filming anytime soon but grown men in bar fights is a big NO. If you're famous & know people are going to push your buttons & you're not at your best when drinking, you don't go to bars, dude. It sucks but there it is. Plus, I'm raising an eyebrow at the complaint from his wife. Coincidences? Hmmm...
ETA: I've been a dick recently & have announced on social media that I watch this outta peer pressure & will prob stop watching until they stop the abusive relationships & get back to S1-type episodes (all true btw). NO replies. I was at a bar on Friday where they have Scandal viewing parties w/ half-off drinks. I was like, why are there pics of Kerry Washington plastered everywhere, what vibe is this place going for?

Punching that man is the least of his (alleged) crimes/worries. He's been knocking his wife around too. I never liked him, and now I feel justified. I hope his character disappears off the show.

Watching tonight's episode and him getting a bit of comeuppance (albeit to his character, only), I'm hoping they kick him off, too. Tonight reminded me why we don't have S1-based episodes. It's because of the affair that was exposed between Liv & Fitz. Even though she managed to turn it around, it did impact her clients and so working for the campaign and the WH is all she's got. Now they're trying to make us really feel bad for Cyrus. Get real! I understand it's a deep, dark secret...but Mellie, JUST TELL FITZ HIS DAD RAPED YOU. Jesus. It would get that burden off your chest and restore the marriage that you need to at least maintain for your children and livelihood. It would also give your husband the respect (for when they were together pre-Pope) to know that it wasn't her that killed the marriage or that they were doomed. It was that bastard of a father that he never liked anyway. I'm wondering if something was mentioned when they went back to chat with the kids? I swear, if I hear that light reference...it only makes me think of this: "I hate you for this!"

Lots of "throw something at the TV" moments last night.
-Olivia telling Andrew to stay away from Mellie minutes after she was tongue wrestling with Fitz. Glass houses, indeed.
-Fitz's entire "you killed our marriage" tirade. I'm pissed at Shonda for even putting this nonsense into the show. I hat Fitz.
-Huck, Quinn, and Quinn's boyfriend. All three of them gross me out.
