I skipped out when Quinn and Huck first started playing tonsil hockey. That was enough for me. Seems like I really haven't missed anything in a year and a half.

Yeah, Guillermo Diaz is just mind-bogglingly awful in the role. His love readings are so far off the mark it goes into SNL parody territory. I stopped watching somewhere around season 2, and up until then I rather liked him. Hearing this makes me sad. His "acting" really went downhill in season three. His two facial expressions now are blank and eyes bugging out. That's all. He was a poor man's Dexter at the beginning but is a total parody now. More important, why am I still watching this show? I swore off it after last season but got sucked back in by the convenience of watching on Hulu. It's so ridiculous and over the top and yet I need to see what crazy shit they pull next. At least, the bad, obvious Emmy-bait kidnapping plotline is mostly over. |

I remember some really funny posts about how awful his sext time scenes with Quinn were. combination of poor material and poor directing maybe? |

And his speaking consists of either stuttering or whispering. I forgot all about the director's part in this. If an actor is using bad technique, it's the director's job to tell him to stop it with that bullshit.

I think it's bad directing, honestly. Huck's been off the reservation for so long that I'm not sure the writers/directors know what to do with him unless he's whispering threats, whispering long-ass B613 monologues, or whispering whispers all bug-eyed. They took him too far to crazytown & have forgotten how to reel him back in. Which is too bad. I think I liked him till around the time he hooked up with Quinn. I don't remember all the odd antics happening in S1.

What did happen to his acting? I don't remember him being so bad on weeds either. Directing? He was awesome on 'Weeds'. Papa Pope's speech to Olivia this week made me boil with rage. It wasn't the words, it was Joe Morton maniacally laughing in the middle of it. His acting makes me angry. |
