Yeah, Guillermo Diaz really blows in the role and the actress that plays Quinn doesn't bring much to the role. I admittedly have a bias when it comes to Jeff Perry as he can do no wrong because he's Mr. Katimski and he's a reliably sound actor. I think his Cyrus-histrionics are what the part calls for.

I think Huck sucks too. Funnily enough, he got "kudos" from EW, and other sources for the Huck-centric episodes last season. I just don't get it.
But, I think Shonda sucks too. I mostly started watching because it's such a cultural phenomenon right now. I like Kerry, but don't like the way she moves her mouth/spits out her lines as Olivia. But, I'm still watching, for whatever that's worth...

I might have stated it in this thread before, but I hate the Gladiators, and absolute detest Huck and his twitches. Quinn is useless/pointless/annoying and irrelevant. Abby is okay when she's with the D.A. and/or working for/with Olivia. And I can't even remember the black guy's name, so that should tell you how I feel about him.
Olivia has become too whiny and taciturn. Her (alleged) attraction to Scott Foley's toothless, white-bread character is baffling. Her popcorn/wine therapy isn't quirky anymore, it's a cop-out. Olivia used to be strong, fierce, and a take charge force to be reckoned with. Now she's a crybaby. Way to defang your heroine, Shonda.
I love/love-to-hate all the White House peeps. I love Cyrus and his husband. I love Mellie's scheming and bon mots. I love David the D.A. They're the only things that are keeping me tuned in.

I really want to see another Shonda interview where she insists that Scandal isn't a guilty pleasure nighttime soap, after tonight's episode, because I need to have a good laugh and a massive eye roll.

Seriously, what did I just watch? I am *flaming* over Big Gerry raping Mellie and the possibility that the oldest Grant child is really Fitz's half-sister. This just SCREAMS soap opera. Mellie really has been through hell and back. No wonder she's as jaded as she seemed in the beginning. I like her more and more. Me thinks Olivia will "bounce back" once she gets to the nitty-gritty of all things Papa/Mama Pope. Girl just needs to get out of the country and start over.

Mellie is the only one worth a damn on the show. The rest of them need to go away.

Mellie really has been through hell and back. No wonder she's as jaded as she seemed in the beginning. I like her more and more. I think it's the older son who might be Fitz's sibling, because Fitz told Mellie that they'd be expected to name the baby after his dad, and the older boy is called Jerry. Though I've also seen some speculation that Fitz is shooting blanks and none of the children are his biologically. Fitz seemed to be as surprised by Teddy's conception as viewers were, and now another child's paternity has been thrown into question. Maybe Mellie realized what was up when they went for baby number two and she used a donor behind Fitz's back. Watch it be revealed when, in another "ripped from the soaps" plotline, one of the kids gets sick and needs a bone marrow transplant or something.

I don't think they've actually shown the two older kids, so it would be interesting to see what they look like. Although, if the son is Fitz's father's kid, he could still look like Fitz. I don't see how Teddy can't be Fitz's child, unless there is a reveal down the road that Mellie flinged with someone for an intentional pregnancy - as per Olivia's instruction.
Mellie is awesome. Why hasn't the actress been nominated for an Emmy? I thought the stylists did an amazing job making her look 15 years younger with a simple hairstyle change and less makeup. The actress's less jaded, more upbeat attitude had a big hand in that transformation as well.

Bellamy Young absolutely rocks the role of Mellie. I might be biased since she's a North Carolina girl too, but I think she's the best thing about the show.

Yeah Huck has really gotten annoying with his one facial expression.
Soap opera or not, I didn't see any of the shocks in this episode coming, so bravo show.
