I think it's interesting mostly since it seems like a change in PR strategy? Perhaps he feels he needs to force things more now since some of his peers have arguably established better careers (Fassbender, Redmayne, Cumberbatch, McAvoy, Hardy etc.)? Hiddleston's just not as good an actor as most of the people on that list. He doesn't have Redmayne's versatility - he wouldn't be able to play Stephen Hawking or Lili Elbe. He doesn't have Fassbender's charisma and intensity (he tries to fake it but doesn't pull it off). But he's been solidly and steadily building a good career. I kind of expected his career to be a bit like Ewan McGregor's or Colin Firth's - somebody with a devoted following who amasses a long list of interesting projects without ever really breaking through to the A-list. But then in 15 or 20 years, he'll be respected for his body of work and maybe will find the right project to win an Oscar. But now I think he's blown that all to hell. If he can make it out of this relationship without looking like too much of a chump he might be ok, but the chances of that happening seem pretty slim right now.

Interesting. I hadn't heard of him until Loki, the over reaching spoilt brat who we loved to hate as he got the shit beat out of by the Hulk.
Then he could dance cool and was funny and self deprecating on talk shows. I haven't seen Night Manager, I'm curious about his acting chops now.
So yeah, he landed into the same talented Brit pool with Cumberbatch and McAvoy, but maybe he doesn't really belong there.
This Taylor Swift thing seem a little publicity stunty. On the other hand, Affleck/JLo, Brad Cooper/models, DiCaprio/models, so it's not unheard of with the arm candy publicity thing.

I full on admit to being a huge fan, but this just makes me cringe. And by "this" I mean the whole darn thing...underwear shots, gym shots, and oh God the beach shots. It can't get worse, can it? I know, I know...the answer to that is yes. I just have no idea how anyone thought this was a good idea. They may legitimately like each other and that is fine, but timing man! How could you not think, "so we've been together two weeks and are going to canoodle on the beach, then a few days later I have a photo spread in my undies" and think people wouldn't comment in a WTF?! type way?
I am still rooting for him for Bond, but all this just reeks of desperation.

I changed my avatar to Tom and his fist, in honor of the one modeling pose he knows.
I used to call the pose "look at my expensive watch" but apparently he does it even when he's not wearing a watch.

He's always been known for being super, super ambitious. Even when he first started acting he never stopped talking about becoming a huge Hollywood star.

I find him utterly unsexy.

He was sexy as Loki, like Orlando Bloom was sexy as Legolas, other roles, eh.
Yes, I have some fantasy issues.

He was ok in The Night Manager, but Elizabeth Debicki is the one who really blew me away in that. Was Tom also linked to her at one point? Crimson Peak was a big disappointment.
