She looks great in those pics. Also, her dog is adorable!

Ah yes, I see that Vogue once again did the head shot treatment in favor of showing a body that's not a size zero on the cover.
But yeah, she looks nice here. I think she can look pretty great with the right styling. She should hire a stylist (or a better one...).

I have not read the whole article yet but I liked her quotes - not pretentious, but thoughtful.

She looks much less hippie than she does it real life. I guess they do that to everyone, but what's the point of picking some "real woman", and then stretching out the body? And yeah of course - only the face can be on the actual cover.
But it also proves that professional styling is available for award shows. That black number would have blown everyone away - but who wants that?

If I didn't have a heart of tar, I would almost find it sad that here we have a woman with means and opportunity to look very good at public events and instead for whatever reason chooses to dress like a lumpy hobo wearing a dress gotten at Sally Ann and now that's what people talk about post-award shows, instead of the fact how remarkable it is for someone of her age to create, star and direct an award winning show on major cable channel.
But, like I said, I have a heart of tar and can't stand her. <kanye shrug>

Jezebel is offering $10,000 to anyone who can give them her untouched Vogue photos. You know, for feminism: Please. You are doing this for 2 reasons only. 1. The page views and 2. Because you are assholes. There are so many reasons that this is offensive that I can't even list them all. I know Jezebel did something similar before, they gave a bounty for the most photo-shopped magazine cover. But that was different, that wasn't targeting a specific celebrity, it was to show how much even beautiful women on covers of magazines were photo shopped. This is specifically just to prove that Lena Dunham is fatter than she looks in the pictures. And I don't even particularly like Lena. I don't hate her but I think she is overrated and overexposed. And this guarantees even more thinkpieces and click bait headlines about her for a few more weeks. Which may be the most offensive part of this all.

Yeah, the Jezebel thing seems mean-spirited and decidedly anti-feminist. What's the point? To body shame Dunham? Because that seems like it.
I think that's the end of my lurking at Jezebel. I've had some issues with stuff they've done in the past, but this really takes the cake.

Jezebel has been a hate-read for me for a while now.

Being fine with the way you are and how you look don't equate to wanting untouched pictures of yourself in a magazine or in any pictures really. If that were the case, then the vast majority of the population would have to be labeled as insecure and shallow -- male and female, young and old. Everyone, no matter who they are, has the right to want to look their best in pictures....or not. It's up to them. How would the "feminists" at Jezebel feel if someone put non-photoshopped pics of them all over the web without their permission. Would that be considered a feminist statement to them?
