I think it's interesting that you can see on TLO that she wore it pretty much how it was presented on the runway, just that her outfit has the colors reversed. Wearing a big poofy skirt at the Emmy's isn't really a stunt. It's one of the times where a star like her can and should go big. It's just that -- like TLo points out -- she needs to adjust the look and styling to suit her, because that getup in total is one of those things only teenage models on a runway can pull off. The runway shot really shows that this look isn't her idea at all. She is just another example of a starlet who literally copied the runway look and had it not work for her. A lot of celebs do this, especially younger ones who haven't figured out their major event style yet. Chloe Moretz and the Fanning sisters make the exact same misstep sometimes (quite often, actually).

I don't like the runway version either, fluffy princess on the bottom, diner waitress on top, nope, nope, nope.

I really like the skirt, I just think the top is all wrong for it. You need to go simple- just a tank, something less bulky than that starched shirt.
You know who would rock that skirt with just a white tank top? Sarah Jessica Parker. I think Lena is trying to get this quirky style, but she doesn't know how to put the pieces together. Her awful posture doesn't help things.

Her awful posture doesn't help things. Her posture always makes what could be just merely bad absolutely hideous. I don't even want to look at her she always looks so terrible. It bums me out.

I have always hated the "Tootie" haircut on anybody, but I honestly don't think her hair looks too bad there. Her hair seems more like Ann Jillian-especially the platinum blonde. I'm surprised TLo didn't tag that entry as "Girl, That's Not Your Dress!"

The top looks slept in and schlumpy. It ruined the whole thing for me. As one of 4 people who watched ''Jennifer Slept Here', I love that reference.

What is she doing? Seriously. She's certainly NOT making her critics look like the shallow assholes she claims they are.

It's hideous. Her hair is too severe, the skirt looks like something you'd wear on Halloween and the top looks like it's made of Qiana.

Ha! I'm person number 3 who remembers Jennifer Slept Here.
I even remember the theme song (She lived here, loved here, laughed here. Jennifer slept here!). I just looked it up - that crap only ran for 13 episodes. Why is it taking up so much real estate in my brain?
Topic - yes, hair is more Ann Jillian than Tootie. I still think it looks okay worth that make up even if it is a bad idea in general.
