Wes Anderson's latest. Bruce Willis and Ed Norton join the usual suspects. I want this to be in wide release already.

Me too. I just watched the trailer online and it looks so much better than of the other upcoming movies this summer. Besides Edward Norton, I'm excited about Frances McDormand and Bill Murray.

And we can play Wes Anderson Bingo!I have *major* issues with the arthouse here because they couldn't even show Midnight in Paris correctly - wrong aspect ratio, too dim, a print that was sickly greenish-yellow/scratched/etc. - so I really hope it plays somewhere else here. Here's a city/release date guide via Focus. I think this is going to do well enough in limited release to get more theaters. In general, I love Wes - except Life Aquatic. For a while, my mom's Bill Murray lurve/crush meant that our Christmas movies (my family *always* sees a movie on Christmas Day after we eat) for a few years were Rushmore, Royals, then Life Aquatic. So I totally associate him with fall/the holidays so much that it's kinda disconcerting for his new movie to be opening in May!

I saw it yesterday at a sneak preview and really enjoyed it. Had a very wistful quality, and the cinematography was gorgeous. Ed Norton has never been so likable.

I went to see this over the weekend and thought it was pretty good. The two main young "actors" were very good. All of the adult leads were good as well but i felt that some didn't really have enough given to them to truly shine. (Frances McDormand & Bill Murray come to mind) The standard Wes Anderson rules apply. If you aren't sure or if you hated his past movies...(Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr Fox & The Life Aquatic) please do not go and see this one. it is as quirky and "Wes Andersony" as any of his movies. If you like his sort of movies (Long languid shots, old folksy or brit rock music, use of vivid color, weird families, movie sets that are filmed so they look like movie sets etc.) then by all means check this one out. I don't know how he gets funding to do these movies and afford to get the talent he gets but I am glad he does what he does. As usual he had some music in the filem that is still resonating with me 3 days later.

It was pretty good. He's dialed down the twee enough that it wasn't sickening, but it was still very much a Wes Anderson production. And Bruce Willis is awesome in it.

His films are so visually interesting but he loses me with the story. Too quirky. Except Rushmore, I love that movie.

There's one artsy theater I know it'll be playing at, if I feel like laying out the $13 I may check it out this weekend.
