Last year, there were plenty of positive stories like, "June puts all the money from the show in a trust fund and the family still lives on Sugar Bear's income as a contractor!" which turned the idea that she was exploiting Alana into much more of a "lucky break" situation,--
and whatever else I was going to type out doesn't matter. She testified against her own child? I can't understand it.

Doesn't him being on the SO list and on parole preclude him from having contact with a minor?

He's obviously with her because of her TLC money and her steady supply of daughters.Gross, gross, and gross. Anna's child is a girl too? That's another reason for her to be extra pissed. Hopefully June's done with having kids; heaven help us if these two spawn and the child is a girl.

Doesn't him being on the SO list and on parole preclude him from having contact with a minor? That's exactly what I was wondering auroranorth. I'm not familiar with this guy's case, but I thought in general- convicted pedos had some restrictions on how much interaction they could have with kids. I remember after Victor Salva (Jeepers Creepers director and convicted pedo) got released from prison, there were some rules about the ages of actors allowed on set with him. Like teenage characters had to be played by actual adults because he wasn't allowed to be around minors. It seems to me that photos of him hanging out with an 8 year old child would be a parole violation... But I don't know what the exact rules are. Maybe by being with Mama June that somehow counts as 'supervised' contact. *shudder* Sugar Bear, Uncle Poodle, CPS, someone needs to step in and remove the kids from this guy's presence... Or else he needs to go down for violating his parole if that's what's happening. And call me naive, but I actually did think Mama June had more sense than this. Obviously she's hung up on this creepo to the point that her children's safety isn't important. It's not just a cultural willful ignorance going on here. It's just a dumbass woman putting a mayun above all else- and that kind of stupidity sadly knows no cultural or economic boundaries. June still should know better since she's not only got her family members shouting out the truth in her face, but also TV producers and the tabloid media at large telling her this is wrong wrong wrong. But for whatever reason, she's pulling a Woody Allen 'The heart wants what it wants'. Bad Idea Jeans come in all shapes and sizes. I'm glad her oldest daughter is speaking out against this and keeping her daughter (June's grandbaby) away. They just need to get Honey Boo Boo and the rest of the kids away from this monster.

What seems to be going on here has nothing to do with class or socioeconomics. It's just fucked up and wrong to put your children in the path of a pedophile. The impulse to protect children transcends every single barrier there is, including species!

I can't imagine CPS and/or Sugar Bear NOT taking action at this point - there's nothing like public pressure to do the right thing. Not that there should be public pressure and a celebrity element to make someone act properly, but unfortunately that's the way the world is sometimes. At least the celebrity aspect could help Alanna in this case, compared to the thousands of children who continue to suffer in anonymity.
And yeah, no surprise that June was visiting him all along, although I'm not sure TLC can monitor their "talent's" actions 24/7. They only filmed for a few weeks at a time, putting 10 or 12 episodes together, and then the family could go about their business in between. I guess I'm kind of defending TLC in an optimistic "surely they wouldn't knowingly have let this happen" kind of way.

So, the Gosselins, the Roloffs, and the Boo Boos have all had major scandals. I guess the next TLC money train to go off the rails will be the Duggars?

You would think that TLC and other reality show producers would go the extra mile with background checks, but history has shown that they don't. A few years ago one of the subcontracted (which is an important legal point) employees who edited Jon and Kate and the Duggars show among others for TLC was arrested in a child porn sting. You'd think that that would cause TLC to make more of an effort to protect the children they film. But nope.

McDaniel's daughter-in-law is an awful person as well:
Bitch, you could look at my past with the Hubble telescope and you won't find any child molestings. Meanwhile, the state of Georgia is being vague about whether or not they're investigating, which is understandable as they need to protect childrens' privacy. Just someone get those children away from these horrible people.
Leave it to Michael K to make me laugh in the midst of something terrible:

This man has his own children? I can't...
I wonder what John Grisham would say about this.
