I think that is why I am hesitant to snark on them. They might not be the "perfect" family, but we all know families who look and act like they are doing everything "right", but are flat-out miserable. It is nice to see kind and happy people on TV. Slightly OT, but this explains to me why I like the Bates family, but not the Duggars. I might not agree with the Bates on a lot of subjects but I'd happily hang out with them. Anyway, speaking from experience (Type II diabetic with 8.5 toes remaining), the longer she waits, the more foot she'll lose...

I don't watch this show as I have sworn to stay far away from all TLC programming, but seeing clips is kinda unavoidable. There is no doubt that the kid is cute and charming and it is nice to see a family that is kind to each other.
But...man. Please don't feed your newborn Mountain Dew! And Mama, get that toe checked out! When they first showed the clip I thought she got run over by a forklift a week ago, then was horrified to discover that it was a few years ago! The thing is still black and blue and all angry-looking! When things don't heal, something is wrong. I agree that it is probably diabetes-related, and Mama probably knows that deep down but doesn't want to go to the doctor and get that suspicion confirmed, so she just covers it up. But yes - if she doesn't address it she will lose more than a toe.
And that's why I can't watch these shows. I seem to find the people absolutely vile (The Goslings), boring as hell, or I worry about them and I don't want to spend my time concern-trolling.

Mountain Dew for a newborn?! I missed that part. Are they starting her training for drinking that stuff during pageants? Diabetic or not, June should get the foot checked out. Something is seriously wrong.

I don't think they fed Mountain Dew to the newborn, weren't they just cleaning off the bottle nipple by pouring Mountain Dew on it?

I don't think they fed Mountain Dew to the newborn, weren't they just cleaning off the bottle nipple by pouring Mountain Dew on it? Whaa?? Why? Sugar Bear had some bad leg infection recently and almost lost it (so the gossip says). I wonder if he could be Type 2. I hope they at least get the kids regular check ups. All that money wasted on pageants, and they all look sort of ... gray.

Sugar Bear's leg probably just didn't get proper care. Mama June is the oneI peg for diabetes. Her and Alana. The way that child sits around cramming her face with snacks like cheese balls is appalling.
