I just saw this. Rebel Wilson was so funny, and I loved that Fat Amy was not at all apologetic for being who she was.
The vomit fight scene was OK to start with, but then it got strange. I really didn't like the way they had the lesbian character chase the promiscuous character around and grope her. At one point she actually had the "freshman rape whistle" in her mouth. How is that funny? The quiet girl making barf-angel was pretty funny, in a truly insane way, though.
Totally agree that no "Jesse's Girl" was a missed opportunity. (I love Jesse's Girl).

I really wanted to like this, but just didn't. I found a lot of the humour lazy and offensive: Gay people grope and chase unsuspecting straights at any opportunity, don'cha know? And gosh, black women are so big and masculine, they look like men. I can't believe it's 2012 and it's *still* rare for black women to be portrayed as feminine and attractive. Even Fat Amy (who was the best thing in this), it seemed like 90% of the jokes were about her being fat and lazy.
Maybe I just need to learn to appreciate the art form, but nothing I saw on screen was impressive. I honestly couldn't tell when the Bellas had done a good or lacklustre performances. I mean, they're girls with nice voices singing cover versions - is doing a mash-up really supposed to make all the difference? 'Cause mash-ups, yeah, they've never been done before.
Other than Rebel Wilson, I must say, I liked the love interest. When he first appeared, I was like, "Aw, he's not cute" but by the end of the movie he'd totally won me over; he was such a stand-up, sweet guy.

I thought that the love interest looked like Dane Cook and I could not get that out of my head for the rest of the movie.

I thought the lesbian theme was strangely emphasized (ditto the <<<vomit--I thought it would get tied in to an eating disorder, but basically she can vomit on command? Odd.)>>> Everything else I enjoyed: her love of music, her beau's love of movies and scoring (which I relate to a lot), and all the riff-offs. Aubrey was so pressed, I thought there'd be a stage mom pop up at some point but alas, none to be found. This was funny, overall.
ETA: Although I tried not to, I did end up craning to hear stuff from the whispering girl. <<<"Do you want to see a dead body?" made me lol--I think I've seen Stand by Me 50x >>>and didn't see that coming.

Saw this last night and LOVED it. I liked that the film makers clearly knew of the similarities to countless other movies so they didn't waste too much time on the inevitable re-entry into finals or the drama between Beca and Jesse. I really loved the scene when he wanted her to watch the ending of The Breakfast Club and she kept looking at him instead. In most films it's usually the boy looking at the girl like that. I totally get the Rebel Wilson hype, she's awesome.

My favourite "quiet girl" line was "I ate my twin in the womb".
I loved this movie. I liked all the girls and that you didn't have a bitchy character. I also liked the music - I have actually been listening to the soundtrack a lot on spotify.
And I sososo agree on the Rebel Wilson love. She's awesome, I would watch her in anything.

I'm still bitter there isn't a full version of their No Diggity cover.

Watching this now. Did they all actually sing? If so, Anna Kendrick has a really nice voice.

I wanted to like them, there were some funny bits, but overall "meh".
