Just saw this and it may end up being one of my favorite films of the year.
Funny as hell to a level in which I think the marketing is not doing it justice. Not that I wasn't going to see this anyway since I adore Anna Kendrick like whoa and have a great affection for all-girl acappela groups because one of my freshman besties was in one. But this ended up being one of the most sheerly entertaining from start to finish times I've had at the movies in a long long while.
And if the soundtrack is on iTunes, I may need to get it immediately.

I LOVED it. My only one very tiny nitpick was that they should have somehow forced "Jessie's Girl" in. Everyone was perfect. Love.

I actually have an aversion to a capella (and somewhat shamefully, most varieties of theatrical stage performance) but it was Rebel Wilson who made me go. All that aside, I thought it was fantastic and fun, and the sulky sadboy parts were done without too much drama. I didn't recognize many of the songs, but it didn't matter. The college radio bits made me nostalgic, and like all good movies, it was about what it was about as well as, like, deep stuff. ETA: roisin, my college was like that, too. The girls always, always always sang the same songs, and the male and mixed groups experimented more. Other things I liked about the movie: Beca didn't apologize for her djing or music geekery (tee hee, I'm such nerd!) and she was portrayed as technically gifted as well as artistically. I also liked that the potential love triangle didn't really go anywhere, and I also appreciated that the pig was truly a pig, rather than a boar with a heart of gold. . And Amy didn't apologize, either. "You're all skinny, but I know you all have fat hearts." Oh! And I liked when Beca said that she really valued female friends in a way she hadn't before. Good move, writers. And excellent casting with McLovin. That said, was the lesbian themetoo over the top?

I was never in an a capella group but there were four of them (two all girl, one all guy, one co-ed) at my college, which was not a big school, so the groups were everywhere and I knew several of the singers. This movie was so much fun although it reaffirmed that I like male a capella better than female. The boy group always had more interesting performances at my school than the girl ones, the guys did sing more modern songs and the girls always sang the same old songs. So that part rang true for me. Though none of our groups also had choreography so that was different.

Granted, my overwhelming crush on him only started to exist after 'The Big C' but can we talk about how incredible John Benjamin Hickey was in this movie (as well as how great he and Kendrick were together)? I also thought the writing of his character was great -- he's a dad that 'doesn't get it' but not in a cliched one-note way. I liked that this movie granted everyone their own humanity and well-roundedness -- even the villains or stereotypes.
The Grand Romantic Gesture at the end? Totally worked. My heart swooned immediately.
Wow, this is awesome - Ester Dean, who played the awesome butch lez Cynthia Rose, is actually a singer/songwriter under contract with Roc Nation so she's responsible for a chunk of the hooks/riffs that were sung (like she cowrote Rhianna's 'S&M')!

I saw this yesterday and thought it was really funny. I really liked the a capella groups at my college so it was really fun to delve back into that world a little bit. Also, I want to be friends with Beca.
Anna Camp is really building a great career. I feel like I've seen her in so many projects over the last couple of years. I don't know if she's a good actress but she has charisma and I enjoy watching her.

I liked it, I didn't love it. I thought it was one of those movies where they've already shown the funniest bits in the trailer. I thought it needing more singing, more Rebel Wilson and less vomiting.

I really liked it; but yes, more singing, less vomiting.

Just saw it. Wholeheartedly enjoyed it. I agree with all of chonies' points about the lack of cliche-ness. I kinda wish they had stayed just a few minutes longer with the sharing personal secrets scene, but no big deal. I also kinda wish they had showcased more of the beatbox/percussive aspects of the performances, but that's okay. Fun, smarter-than-average comedy. I liked seeing that Anna Kendrick has some range to her (I've only seen her in Up In The Air and 50/50 so basically straitlaced and over-achieving).
