Wait till y'all see the first episode back from the mid-season break. I'm completely unsure what the time frame for the story lines are anymore. Some seem to pick up right where the mid-season finale left off, while others seem to be months in the future. I still like this show, but let's face it, it's a mess. Are they just going to pretend Zoe never existed?

I'm pretty much sticking around primarily for the Juliette/Avery storyline at this point, and somewhat for the music.

Well, I knew that Teddy money thing was a set up. Can he get off my TV now? There's no way he's going to spin this to get away with it!

I can't wait for his character to go away. The character no longer serves a purpose and Eric Close isn't exactly a master thespian. I did enjoy his scene with Maddie when she wanted to go home and the scene with Deacon.
I just binge watched the entire series over the last few weeks and I couldn't believe Eric Close has been getting steady work all these years. I remember when he was on Santa Barbara, my mother and I rewound his scenes over and over because he was so hilariously awful and wooden. Believe it or not, I think his acting has actually improved. Comparatively speaking, that is.

Comparatively speaking, that is. He was decent on Suits. I know I'm supposed to be Team Deacon, but I LOOOOOOOVE Luke. He did all the right things in his life while Deacon did everything wrong. I went to Nashville on a quick trip recently, and it seems like the actors do musical performances around town. There was a poster at the Ryman where the actor who plays Deacon was performing. Sadly I did not make it to the Bluebird.

I had to finally give this show up. I've come to the conclusion that Connie Britton can't act. She must have been playing herself on FNL, because here she is horrendous. So now that they've reduced Hayden to a minor character and are focused almost entirely on Connie and the horrible actor who plays Deacon it has become too painful to watch.
I liked the show more when it was about the music industry and less about Rayna's home life which is deadly boring.
On a side note, Eric Close can't act either but he wasn't 1/2 bad on Without a Trace. But, his lack of acting skills really show up here.

This last ep was a total snore, although I find myself a little more interested in Layla and Jeff's relationship than I thought I'd be. I wish they'd feature Chris Carmack's character a bit more and add something else to his storyline. I was never very interested in Scarlett and Gunnar, but even less so now, if that's possible. I ff'd through all of their scenes, as I often do. Still enjoying Avery and Juliette. Am hoping to see less and less of Eric Close for reasons I've already stated upthread. Deacon's cancer isn't really the most interesting thing to me ever, either. So, basically, snore.
ITA it was more interesting when it was focused on the music industry.
ETA: I don't even think it's Layla and Jeff's relationship that I'm interested in. It's more Jeff's character and seeing how he's changed since getting booted from the record label. I don't really care what happens to their relationship.

I am sort of interested in these weird non-traditional storylines, i.e. Juliet not being a very interested mother, Jeff and Layla's relationship being sort of shown in the sympathetic side rather than just being icky (which it is, but it's still both things!), and Luke vs. Dean not at all being about bad vs. good. Or maybe I'm reading too much into this.
PSA for anyone at all interested in the music: the cast is on tour again. They had 2 concerts in NYC this week to kick things off. Most of the cast graciously stuck around afterwards to sign autographs and take selfie pics with fans.

I admit the show had gotten awfully soapy during the last couple of seasons, but I was still watching! I'm kinda bummed.
