Who is watching this? I think Connie Britton is so pretty. I covet her hair. Hayden Pannawhatever is very convincing as a brat. I hope this takes off for Jonathan Jackson, I always liked him on General Hospital.
Its cool to see so many landmarks that I know so well. I worked around the corner from Music Row back in the late nineties.
The accents are pretty legit, but seem to come and go. I wonder who they are modeling these characters on--Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood?

I found Juliette to be a mix of Taylor Swift (pop-leaning songs, so-so voice) and Carrie (physical appearance, style, personality*) and then they threw in the poor background/addict mom backstory. Rayna screamed Faith Hill to me, though how much money could she have made during her superstar career if she'll be struggling to keep her house if her record deal falls through? The husband must have run through a lot of her cash with those bad business deals.
I kept mixing up the men at first because so many of them had a similar look, and did the waitress who got discovered at the end of the pilot have to be a blonde, too? It seems that all the big female country stars are blonde so I guess that was a bit of realism. Taylor Swift was discovered at the Bluebird Cafe, too. So maybe this is the "Taylor" character, and her future storylines will include celebrity dating, lots of relationship songs and putting on a shocked face every time she wins an award.
*Allegedly. Back when I used to read Lainey her nickname for Ms. Underwood was the very imaginative "Country Bitch". The Entertainment Lawyer was also convinced of her bitchiness but she really didn't seem to register that way with bigger gossip sources. She seems to be very well liked by the A-list in Nashville but then so is Julia Roberts in Hollywood.

I saw the premiere and really liked it. I thought of Taylor, Carrie and Faith as well. This has real potential.

I really liked this. I think it has a lot of promise. Although Rayna's father is a little too over the top evil. I think the music is great too. T-Bone Burnett has the magic touch. Juliette's songs cracked me up. I could totally picture Taylor Swift singing them. And the cover of that Civil Wars song at the end was stunning.

I really liked the pilot but I think it's funny/weird that they're writing it like Hayden has a weak voice when it's obvious (to me at least) that Connie Britton has the worse voice of the two. Hayden's is quite good.

Hayden's is quite good. Yeah, I heard Rayna singing, I thought, "Well, no wonder your career is in the toilet!" Obviously, it was more important to cast a good actress and Connie Britton certainly is that, but her singing voice is going to take me out of the story a little. Maybe if they'd written it in that Rayna's voice isn't what it used to be? Or else have someone else dub the vocals. But then you don't know if Connie Britton would take either option as a blow to her ego in some way and maybe the producers don't want to deal with that.

I don't know my middle-aged country women that well, but I thought Hayden was a mix of Taylor Swift and Kelly Pickler - Taylor's cheesy songs and Kelly's sorry family background.
Everyone seems to have good things to say about Carrie except Lainey, the queen of bias. If Lainey doesn't like someone (see Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston), her reporting on them is very skewed. She's on TV here every night on eTalk, and it's pretty obvious. I can see that if she doesn't like Carrie, she'd take some small thing and blow it out of proportion into "Country Bitch".
As for the show, I was quite entertained. Not sure if I'll like all the country music, but I like the soapiness of it all so far.

I enjoy it and it's a nice break from all the crime shows on Wednesday nights.
The singing is nice and natural, but something that isn't natural is the way Hayden talks. She practically spends her entire time talking behind her front teeth. It's like she's trying to be a ventriloquist. Very distracting.
Connie B. is awesome and I love her hair.

Hayden is kicking ass on this show. I loved that scene with her mom at the gate, her face as she walked away breaking into tears and then becoming resolute, was perfect. Honestly, I don't get the Connie Britton hype. She's perfectly capable but I expected a more dynamic performance because I saw so much excitement about her before the show started.
I do not like Juliette's voice. It's going to be painful to hear more singing from her. I am glad that her boyfriend came through for her though.
I can't wait to see how Rayna's husband's (Teddy?) financial trouble works out. And based on the previews, it looks like Rayna and Deacon are going on tour anyway.

Hayden Panetierre sings very well. Her acting is good too.
I like Connie Britton's acting in that she carries herself like a grown woman. Nowadays, even 40 something actresses tend to act girlish, and she doesn't.
