This show has brought me to the sad realization that I don't like Mindy Kaling very much. That pains me because I loved her on The Office, but I'm not enjoying her or this show. It's off my DVR list.

That's funny because this show is what made me love Mindy Kaling (but then again, I don't really like the US version of The Office much at all). Guess it goes to show how much MMV. I think she's hilarious.

I think the show needs some work. My main problem is that I dislike all of the supporting characters, or find them completely disinteresting. It's like dead air whenever the scene doesn't involve Mindy.

Also, it feels like 95% of the show is focused on Mindy & Dr. Castellano's relationship, and that's too much. There needs to be other stuff going on in the bar while you're waiting five years for Sam & Diane to get together, you know?

But I do love the Mindy/Castellano scenes. I love how vicious they are. I loved all of the icky line-crossing that went on in the last episode.

I mostly like the supporting characters, except for Mindy's BFF (who I can only think of as Sarah Newlin from True Blood). To me the scenes where she comes in seem disjointed or something, and I have a hard time figuring out where she's supposed to fit in. I think they should have a best friend for Mindy who makes more sense, maybe someone who went to med school with her or is still her roommate or something.

I don't think most of the show is focused on Mindy and Castellano, just the last episode was. I thought it was weird how they revealed that Shauna is like in love with Castellano a couple episodes back and then just totally dropped that. WTF?

I tried a couple of times, but don't find this show to be anything to go out of my way to see. I actually like the other 3 sitcoms on Fox on Tuesdays, so I guess 3 out of 4 ain't bad.

I was really looking forward to this show, but I'm kind of disappointed. I liked the pilot episode well enough, and I also kind of liked the ep where they went to the club. Otherwise, I just can't get into it.

I like Mindy Kaling - some of her Office episodes she wrote were my favourites. I liked her book enough to borrow it from the library, but I was glad I didn't buy it. I don't really understand her obsession with romantic comedies. She talked about it in her book and her character on the show is the same. And the show is very romantic comedy-ish. Maybe that's why I'm not loving it.

I think maybe because its her show, it's more her voice than her work on the Office. I like her writing, but I'm not captured by her vision.

Thanks to the revival of this thread, I watched the two eps my cable co offers On Demand (Halloween and Castellano as Mindy's gyno) and I thought they were hilarz. :-)

I laughed so hard at this week's cold open (where her date put accidentally puts on her pants in the morning) that I think my neighbors heard! That is my worst nightmare.

Me too, and then when he said "This is bizarre, there are all these Jolly Ranchers in my pocket!" I was almost choking I was laughing so hard and my boyfriend didn't really get why it was so funny. Oh and I forgot something else I loved, when Mindy and Castellano were doing the questionnaire and she said the bit about her fish oil supplements rolling behind the fridge. "Almost takes fish oil..."

I love this show. It's really grown on me. I loved the bf trying on her jeans. Ohmygod that was hilarious. I loved Mindy & Danny's trying to freak one another out during her gyno exam. Even little things like her reaction to him asking her weight killed me.
