I can't figure out if his psychiatrist really knows what a monster Hannibal is or whether she is so damaged by the attack that she's not able to see her patient properly. And what's the bet Hannibal 'arranged' that attack on her?

I know the DuMaurier is an homage to Daphne DuMaurier. Anyone know what Bedilia is a reference to? In Cleolinda's recap of "Sorbet," she brought up the novel Bedelia, which is about a serial husband-murderer. I'm keeping my eye on you, Dr. Du Maurier. Keeping my eye on your wardrobe and your interior designer and probably your hair dresser too, because damn.

Yeah, DuMaurier's wardrobe is amazing.

I also noticed that she has an extensive herb garden, not unlike the one Hannibal has in his dining room, that I total covet. I just can't figure out how I can do it and then explain to people that yes, I copied a serial killer's dining room.

I knew the name Bedelia had to be a reference to something as everything on the show means something. The only thing I could think of was Amelia Bedelia and was pretty sure that was not it. Although trying to figure out how a cute children's book relates to a serial killer's shrink was amusing. I too covet her home and wardrobe and herb garden.

I think Hannibal referred his violent patient to Bedelia knowing what could happen, remember to Hannibal the world is his petri dish. Either he killed the patient or she did and now she and Hannibal are bound together in the secret. I think she knows Hannibal is a monster, she's afraid of him, I notice that many times Hannibal is with her, she's looking at her watch, as if to say, "when WILL this hour be over?"
I think Hannibal might have copies the herb garden from her home, in his sick way, he's probably in love with her. (Yikes, can you imagine!)
Gillian Anderson looks good because I think she's allowing herself to age gracefully, she looks older, stylish, sophisticated.
One thing I love about this show is that all the actors are adults, and actually act like adults.

Ooh, such an awesome finale! I'm so curious to know where the plot will go next season.
Hannibal's smile at the very end was so chilling.

That was an awesome season finale. They have really set up a tense cat and mouse game between Will and Hannibal for next season. I really want to know more about Hannibal and Dr. Scully. She clearly knows who and what he is, and he scares the shit out of her. She never accepts his dinner invitations because she knows what he serves, then she shows up at her door with dinner. You could practically see her thinking, " Shit." But she's so terrified of him she'll take a bite of human anyway to keep him happy. Speaking of the food, I highly recommend the blog of the "food stylist" for this show. She talks about all the research and work that goes into these meals, and her creations are equally beautiful and terrifying (even though she doesn't actually use human).

The thing with Hannibal is in order for him to be friends with anyone, he has to make that person completely dependent on him. I think he sent the violent patient to Dr. Du Maurier on purpose and when said patient attacked her, Hannibal was right there to save the day; Du Maurier probably realized then what violence Hannibal was capable of. Hannibal probably convinced her not to tell the police what really happened, maybe Hannibal and Du Maurier were having an affair and Hannibal told her that everything would come out if they told the truth; so now they are bound together by a lie. It was a pure power play for Hannibal to bring that food to Du Maurier, I mean what the hell could she do? She's scared of him, she doesn't want to be rude because to be rude is to be dinner.
I thought Hannibal's tears were real because he really wanted to make Abigail and Will into his image, that was his dream all along. Then he had to kill Abigail and frame Will which was probably Hannibal's plan B if Will didn't do his bidding.
Jack Crawford isn't stupid because he reminded Alana that SHE was the one who recommended Hannibal, so Jack would have no reason to think Hannibal is a monster; now if Alana said, "I think Hannibal's a fucking psychopath," maybe Jack would give him the side eye.
Hannibal reminds me of Micky Rourke's character in "9 1/2 Weeks," a man who looked really, really good on the outside and on the surface was perfect, but underneath it all, a total sadist.

That last shot was absolutely perfect.I was not expecting that at all and yet it made perfect sense. I hope that Dr. Scully guest stars on the show next season. I know she has a starring role on her own show but I think it is on NBC too so they should let her do both. Were we to presume that veal was Abigail? Because that is cold. I thought Hannibal only ate the rude? Interview with Bryan Fuller. They have the rights to Red Dragon and some of the Hannibal characters but not Silence of the Lambs. So it is unlikely Clarice Starling is going to show up down the road. The interviewer asks Fuller how long can Hannibal get away with this without the FBI looking like idiots. I thought his answer was really interesting, which was Hannibal is supposed to be like Frasier Krane. Eccentric, fussy psychiatrist. You would never expect Frasier to be a serial killer which is why no-one suspects Hannibal. I never would have made that connection at all. Maybe because the only things I have seen Mads Mikkelsen in he has always played the bad guy. I can't help but see the menace in his character. He has a movie out this summer called The Hunt where he plays an innocent man accused of a terrible crime. He is supposed to be amazing in that. I hope to get a chance to see that. And because why not? Some Bob's Burger Hannibal fan art.
