I'm sure it says something about my mental state, but I've never so much as winced during a Hannibal episode...until this one. That was rough.
Also, I think Bedelia Du Maurier is my new life hero.

I have a pretty high gore tolerance but that opening was brutal. I had to look away when he was tearing himself off the mural. I could still hear the ripping sounds though. I really wanted him to get away. The whole opening was like a classic mini horror movie. So tense.
Sad if that was Gilliam Anderson's last episode. That last scene was awesome. Especially since she is leaving to do some other crappy sounding NBC show.
So Beverly is basically Clarice Starling. She is in way over her head and she doesn't even know it. Hannibal is definitely on to her.

That opening was brutal. Great episode and Gillian was fantastic. It's all so cat and mouse, I'm loving it.

I was incredibly nervous for Bedelia. I hated that the "leg" of lamb looked so f*cking good. (That's right, no skimping on the wine!)
bronze, in Fuller's interview w/ the AV Club, he mentioned wanting Anderson back for a few of the later eps & is trying to maneuver around her schedule.
O/T but Bryan Fuller favorited a throwback Thurs. tweet of mine with a black Santa in the late 70s (this was a new thing at the A&S where I lived, my mom told me recently it was the first year they had one!). So the white customers lined up on one side of the store and black customers on the other. Both Santas had identical decorations, and this was considered a groundbreaking convenience for black consumers. This happened in my lifetime! Anyway, if his mind wasn't so dark I'd be more excited, lol. If there's a bunch of black Santas eaten next winter, you'll know where he got the idea!

So does anyone else eat while watching this show? Because as terrible as this sounds, I always know I'm going to get hungry. And then also feel kind of sick when you get things like THAT OPENING. God.
The acting on this show needs all the awards. The conversation where du Maurier told Hannibal she quit was scarier than a lot of actual scary movies. And I thought it was hilarious watching Will fake out Hannibal and Alana with his unstable crying.

Ha! I usually do OK if it's a non-meat meal I'm eating. But even then... yeah. It can be challenging.

When I watch Hannibal I alternate between wanting to eat all the food on the show and wanting to become a vegetarian.

We snarfed down fish tacos at a record pace to have our eating done before the episode started. Considering how that went with this one, it was a solid move.
