They've seriously toned down his storyline already. Which isn't a surprise, I don't think there's any way they could have shown the book's version on network tv.
They've made a boatload of changes already - the characters seem to share nothing but their names with their counterparts in the book - so I don't know where they're going to go with the plot.

I missed the first couple of minutes - did Barbie actually kill that guy? His character in the book was just supposed to be a drifter, so I guess they changed him into - I dunno - a hired gun, or something?
Please tell me that Jeff Fahey's character isn't actually dead. Apart from Dean Norris, he's my main reason for watching.
Is it just me, or is the actress playing the cop really, really bad? Her only facial expression seems to be with her mouth hanging open.

They just showed him burying the guy. Whether or not he had anything to do with his death is as yet unknown.
Also in the book, Barbie had already been in town for a while and had made enemies with some of the locals. That was why he was leaving. He was friendly with Rose at the diner and that was about it.

I watched it but wasn't impressed. All of the characters fell flat and I really don't care about any of them. I'm mildly curious to see if they run out of food or air but beyond that I'm not invested.

They showed Barbie and the dead guy struggling for a gun ( and it went off) at the start of last nights episode.

Sort of interested in the pilot but the second episode bored me senseless and I drifted off halfway through (come to think of it, this happens when I read King's books). I don't think I'll continue with this one.

Yeah, I kind of had the same experience, dguzpy. I really had to force myself to pay attention last night. There was a lot of, "Wait... What? (Rewind.)" because I just was not tuned in. Although I am interested in what the implications are of the dome being a "sieve."

yeah, just wasn't feeling it this week. It's like they have the makings of a great ensemble but none of it is clicking, and whatever the mystery is isn't compelling enough to keep me coming back. I haven't read the books, but maybe I should because the story itself seems like it could be entertaining.

For me a big problem is that, with few exceptions, the acting is terrible. It's like Dean Norris is the only that's even trying sometimes.
