From the Master of Modern Horror comes the 13 episode mini-series based on the best selling novel and not based on The Simpsons Movie. The Cast has some familiar faces from other works ( Twilight, Breaking Bad, Bates Motel, Supernatural, Detroit 187) King's interview says that he's had this idea since writing Carrie back in the early 70's. He also mentions "next season" but I've also heard that this will be a complete story. IMO, the book is certainly his best work since Gerald's Game / Dolores Claiborne and could be described as The Stand meets Misery. A chiller for these warm summer nights. Mondays on CBS at 10 PM Eastern / Pacific.

DVR set. I was curious about this book (haven't read it) and I want to see how the show turns out. With only a few exceptions, Stephen King books haven't translated well to the screen. I hope this one is good.

Dean Norris is such a good actor, as long as they don't make him do some kind of weird accent for his role, he might make this thing watchable.

I love Dean Norris. I was Meh on this show until I found out he was playing Big Jim, I think he'll do great with the character.
I still have some misgivings about the show. It doesn't seem to me that it's something that could be dragged out across multiple seasons without becoming incredibly annoying.

I wasn't much impressed with the book, but I'll probably give this a look-see. There are rumors running around that they made some changes.
I definitely won't stay around if they drag it out for multiple seasons. 1,100 pages of the book was bad enough.

They haven't committed to even a S2 yet. They are waiting to see how it does ratings-wise. I love Dean Norris but I am watching for Mike Vogel. I usually don't like blondes but he does something to me.

I'm pretty lukewarm about it after that first episode but since I really warmed up to the Mike Vogel character by the end of the episode I'll give it another week or two. That and I want to see where they take the creepy Junior character. Hopefully not too far into psycho-land, just enough to keep him creepy without being cartoonishly crazy. The rest of the characters were pretty take or leave, and there were so many damn commercials I kept drifting away before any real suspense could build.
Dean Norris seems to have lost some weight since his Breaking Bad days.

LAX, not sure if you read the book, but in it, the Junior character is pretty dang psycho.
