Has anybody seen this? I caught the pilot episode. The premise seems to be a lot like Murder in Small Town X- The contestants are plunked down in the middle of a murder mystery and must find clues in order to solve the crime and also be the last one standing as eliminated contestants are "killed".
This show has the twist of also being like the Mole in that the "killer" is also one of the "contestants" (I'm assuming this person is not really an actual contestant- but an actor/actress hired to play the part) Also, on Murder in Small Town X, the contestants were "killed" off basically by just being driven to another part of town and tapped on the shoulder by the "killer". Their shocked reaction was the last we saw of them- but they were not really killed of course.
On this show, the eliminated contestants apparently have to be subjected to playing dead and allowing the remaining contestants to examine their "corpse" for clues.
I'm assuming the first "contestant" killed off was also just an actress hired for that purpose- because the game had only just begun and it seems deeply unfair that she would be picked to be killed off without getting a chance to play.
But the second person was in the game and was eliminated for not guessing well enough how the first victim was killed or who the killer was. So it's a lot like Clue as well where they have to basically say Whodunit (heh) and how they dunit. This second person was lit on fire and jumped into a pool. Now, I'm assuming the fire part was a stuntperson and the splash down in the pool was the contestant.
But in a way, it's worse than Survivor where they have to be sent to reject Island and are forced to come back each week and sit in the jury knowing someone else will get the million they lost. In this case, the person has to play dead and have people who are getting a crack at the money they lost poke at them for clues.
Kinda twisted.... yeah I think I'll watch again!

I talked about this in the "What are you Watching" thread. I found it absolutely HILARIOUS.
The concept is absolutely like Murder in Small Town X, only the "acting" is way worse. Mr. Spin and I had it figured out before they even started to "uncover" their clues. The "contestants" are cheesy, the butler is stereotypical and the whole thing is just poorly written.
It's just overly done in every sense of the word. I may continue to watch for the duh factor and for a dose of comedy since all other shows are on hiatus.

I wanted to see this! For some reason, I thought it started tonight. What time is it on? It looks like fun, and I love a mystery!
On a depressing note, though, wasn't the winner of Murder in Small Town one of the firemen killed on 9/11, which happened just 2 months after that show?

Sadly, yes. The winner of Murder in Small Town X, Angel, was a NY firefighter. 9/11 happened exactly one week after the last episode aired. He could have taken his million and quit his job, but instead he went into the 2nd Tower to try and help people out and was killed in the collapse. Very sad, but he was a hero.
In less depressing news, if you want to see the pilot episode of Whodunit, it's on Hulu for free. Or at least it was last night. I don't know if they'll show all the episodes on Hulu, but that's where I caught the first one yesterday.

I've watched about the first 10 minutes (second episode is on Hulu) of this and it's just as funny as last week. Where did they find these people? I've seen better acting on an episode of Swan's Crossing or was it Saved by the Bell? (Age is showing!)
I think this could be so much better if they cut the overacting antics and just let people seem like they're really trying to solve who the mysterious killer is and how they've been doing it. It's just becoming a little ridiculous.

The bad acting by the contestants doesn't bother me, because it gives me the impression that they're really non-actors who simply have no idea how to act well. Like they were told "this has to be dramatic because its a mystery" and they're all thinking they're doing a good job. The "butler" and his bad acting is an issue, though.
The thing I really dislike so far is the lack of Plot, I'd rather there be something interesting happening instead of "Hi, I'm gonna kill you all!" Its not a murder mystery without plot, its a game where they contestants are fake killed instead of having their torches snuffed.

Oh the Butler cracks me up! Right after the latest contestant is burned to death, the butler comes to dinner to serve them everything flambe and then says 'Too soon?'. Also who knew the pajamas and fluffy socks from last week would turn out to be a clue?
It's not the greatest, and it's no Murder in Small Town X. But it's also pretty amusing and hilarious on it's own.
At this point, I'm suspecting Gino. I noticed when they showed the contestants being woken up he was laying on top of his covers. Now- that could just be because they need to film a reaction shot... Or if could be because he'd just come back from setting off the alarm himself... as the KILLER!!!! MA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! (Or not...)
I do love how ridiculously elaborate all the "murders" are. Poor Donte. Not just set on fire, but done in by his own fluffy socks and their deadly static eletricity! MA HA HA!!!

I have a weird feeling about Sasha, because last week she kept saying how she knew nothing and then won, and this week she seemed to not be upset at all about that foursome alliance.

Seeing that segment at the end with the golf cart exploding and being tossed in the tree! So elaborate!
I think for me, it's just too simple. I figured out how Dante died before they even decided who should go where to investigate. I didn't know that he wore different PJs, but figured that they were sprayed with something (since they indicated that they were all wearing something left for them) and that an ignited spark made it go off. Once I was able to confirm that he was wearing different socks too, it sealed the deal.
I still watch even if it's a train wreck, but the whole 'whodunit' is the only real interest for me. I'm torn between Ulysses & Sasha.

Yes, I love it because of how cheesy and campy it is. I wouldn't want to watch it during the regular season, but I think it's a great summer show so far.
Yes, plus he took getting kicked out of his clique really well certainly better than Dana handled being dissed by Ulysses, lol.
At this point though, it seems like it could still be anyone to me. Melina and Dana both act ridiculously over the top, so that makes me suspect them at times. Then, there's the complete opposite in Cris who barely gets any face time. Or the people who seem a little too helpful like Ronnie and Lindsey have. Of course, this means it's probably Don all along since none of the players suspect him at all, and he seems to be well liked by everyone.
