There was no closure on Daya's baby. She's still in foster care.
I have to say, Alex and her endless guilt was driving me crazy. Maybe I have a bit of sociopath in me but I just wanted Alex to quit with her whining and her guilt. The dude tried to kill you. It's not like you tried to kill some sweet little innocent CO, you killed a professional hitman. It's not worth an entire season of moaning.

Just finished season 4, episode 12. Man...this fucking show.
Fuck Piper and Alex. Their problems are the most unreal, trivial nonsense on the show.

Piper and Alex are wastes of valuable screen time. I just finished the season and I have no idea what was going on that last episode with the bits of paper because I just can't care about their story line. I did laugh at Piper's realization that Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler everyone hates her. Last season, Morelli became my favorite character to watch, when they started to reveal all is not right in her head. This season I still enjoyed watching her. And I really enjoyed Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler the various groups of inmates still clearly hating each other, but working together anyway. I like watching complicated relationships like that - not the boring complicated whinefest relationship of Piper/Alex

DE! VA! STAT! ING!!!!! :-(!!!!
I can't say much more than that. Not just for fear of spoilers, but also because it's a lot to process.
I will say though, I am continuously stunned that Piper Kerman signs off on her namesake being such an unpleasant, self-centered goober. Is she hoping everyone she meets in real life will find her that much more awesome considering how unlike the fictional Piper she is? I can't recall the last time I found a main character so loathsome.

I suspect Piper Kerman just wants fictional Piper to remain the de facto lead character and that's part of why she and her buddy Alex continue to get more screen time than they deserve.
Having spent a week digesting, the scene in the cabin with Maritza and the guard, and of course the scene in the cafeteria really stay with me. Neither in a pleasant way of course.

I just finished it and all I can really say right now is DAMN. I need some time to process it all. I accidentally got spoiled for {Spoiler}Poussey dying (stupid Wikipedia cast list) but I didn't know how it was going to happen. I kept thinking the white supremacists were going to kill her and I totally was not expecting it to be one of the nicer guards. I'm apparently one of the few that enjoyed last season but even I must admit that it was much better this year. Although I continue to not give a flying fuck about Healey.

I was not spoiled, and I was shattered. When she broke the fourth wall and turned that smile on the camera? Gutted.
I'm kind of embarrassed a fictional character hit me this hard.

What got me was {Spoiler}not so much Poussey dying, it was everyone else's reaction to it. Mainly Taystee curling up next to her on the floor and wailing. Norma holding Brook and singing also got me pretty hard.

I finished the season last night. Wasn't spoiled and, like everyone else, was really devastated by what happened in ep 12. Given all the strife between the prisoners, it was a bit of a twist that the deadly violence occurred when the various groups were actually united in a cause and the untrained guards were the guilty parties. So tragic.
Caputo. Oh Caputo. He's really in over his head. I give his credit for not wanting to scapegoat anyone, but he handled it in a way that was sure to make the prisoners angry. The ending was a great cliffhanger--can't believe we have to wait a year to see what happens.

I'm sick of Caputo and his perpetual failure to stand up and do his job properly. The ballsiest thing he ever did was allow the nun to take Sophia's picture - which he did in lieu of doing anything about the situation himself. As usual.
The ONE time he puts himself on the line it's for the sake of the young white man because the possibility of one young white man's future being messed up is the only tragedy worth avoiding. He was never going to stand up for Poussey no matter what MCC decided to say about her.
