I finally caught up and watched the 1st season, so now I'm ready for season two!
Shit. She bugged me the entire season. Couldn't Piper have just killed her punk ass?
But YES! Yay for Crazy Eyes!

I saw Lea DeLaria in concert last night and she was amazing -- very political, very intelligent, and oh-so-talented. She sang songs from her jazz albums and her voice is beautiful. It was a friend's 50th, Lea brought her up on stage, and the audience sang "Happy Birthday".

Trailer for season 2. It looks awesome, I cannot wait. Vanity Fair interview with the woman who was the basis for Alex's character. I actually think the real relationship between the two is more interesting then what they've shown on the show. She seems like a fascinating woman. Its interesting that after everything they have been through they still seem to have some affection for each other.

Finished watching Season 2, episode 1 and I hate Laura Prepon's character even more.
Stop falling for her shit, Piper! I would have thought you'd grown a lot more in your time in prison to keep this naive crap up, but *sigh* you have not.
I don't know a whole lot about the real Piper's story, but I wonder how much of this is true, where it ends and where it just becomes 100% fiction?
Did I read correctly that Jodie Foster directed this episode? And Lori Petty looks seriously ROUGH.

Is the entire season up? I just read that they were filming today (that filming location website) -- are they already filming Season 3?

Did I read correctly that Jodie Foster directed this episode? And Lori Petty looks seriously ROUGH. Jodie Foster directed an episode last season (the one focusing on Sofia) so she's already part of the OITNB family. And right on about Lori Petty. I only recognized her voice, not really her face. I only watched the first episode last night and was half asleep while I did, so I need to watch again. I should have known Alex had something up her sleeve when she was nice to Piper and Piper wondered why she wasn't mad at her anymore. I think I saw part of the second episode before drifting off. At least I remember thinking the sauna scene was an attempt to balance out all the female nudity.

Well, I did it. I binged the whole thing. I'll summarize my feelings on the whole season with this: Go Rosa! In more details (spoilered just in case):
- Polly and Larry can just go fuck off. Yeah, Piper cheated, but what they did was seriously screwed up and honestly, Larry was boring anyway, so I honestly wouldn't care if Piper cut these two off and we never saw them again. I mean, seriously - do they really think they could stay friends with Piper after this?
- No where near enough Sofia. They need to fix that next season.
- Suzanne was heartbreaking yet again. But she is right - Red's hair does make her look like the Heat Miser.
- Daya and John are just...not smart people. She wants a big, romantic "man up" gesture, but how exactly would that help her or her child? And he's all turned around and doesn't know what the hell he's doing. Pornstache and his crazy declaration of love is actually the best part of this. I kinda hope he isn't gone forever.
- Healy is just so strange. He wants to help, but he takes everything so damn personally and stomps off and takes his ball home at any perceived slight. And he seems to honestly like some of the ladies, but then he's got his misogyny and his "women - especially lesbians - are trying to take over the world and make men obsolete" thing is super-creepy and would be even if the Elliot Rodger shit hadn't happened. But I thought it was hilarious that he told Pennsatucky about his "lesbians are trying to take over" theory and she decided to take that knowledge and use it to join what she saw as the winning team.
- Finally, again, Go Rosa! I enjoyed her story all season, and especially loved the ending where she takes off and runs over Vee for being so damn rude. I hope she doesn't die in prison. I hope they never catch her else she pulls a Thelma & Louise off a cliff somewhere.
