I'm still watching and think it's been great this year. Loved the fight between May and her double last week. I'm nervous about possible brainwashing of the people who were with Hydra. I like the new guys (especially Mack) and am enjoying seeing Talbot more too. on a shallow note, Skye's bangs bug me.

I won't say it's my favorite show or anything, but after binge watching season 1, I do like it a lot.
I don't really care about the big picture, and I will admit that Chloe Bennet (Skye) pushes a few of my buttons, so I will watch her anytime. Kinda my feeling about Jessica Alba and Dark Angel!
I will say this: I get un-naturally happy when anyone (especially Coulson) tosses out a throwaway joke that screams "Whedon". Like when they're shooting at the bus and he says, "If they scratch my paint, I'm gonna be pissed!"
It's almost like my feelings when reading Stephen King. I am happy when I like the book, but I don't even care WHAT the story is, I just love HOW it's being told. Style over substance works for me sometimes.

I also love the little after story kickers, like Bill Paxton re-animating and Coulson with his little gun "Hey guys, I thought I saw it in here". (Trying not to spoiler, even though this was from last season). And the talk with Talbot where Talbot said SHIELD didn't have enough fire power to rob a convenience store...cue visuals.
It is megatons better this year. I am really enjoying it. The annoying bits (Skye and what's his name, the one in the basement now) are way down, and the story is just getting more more layered.

The show has really improved lately. The humor is less forced and Skye is not as annoying. It helps that the stories don't revolve around how super special she is anymore, only to show her mooning around with her laptop.

I've been binge watching this as of this week which is a little odd as I am a Marvel geek, and it should have been on my radar before this. It was just okay at first (I don't find Skye annoying though the characters were a little bland), but the show got infinitely more interesting once Hydra was in play. And Ward got LOADS hotter as a baddie. Ha. Looking forward to more episodes.
ETA: Dayum! This has gotten fab! I just finished the latest episode, and I am hooked. The guy that plays Ward is really good. I'm pretty sure that he's just a delusional psycho, but he works it just enough to where I'm doubting the brother's story. Well played, Whedon. I think that Reina is my favorite character.

Anyone else see last night's episode? It definitely scratched my itch. I love that Ward is on the run and delivering gifts "like a cat that leaves dead birds." This show is my must-see TV right now especially after playing Bill Withers while Ward shaved his evil scorching hot self. Whedon - I love you and now I remember why.

I really like the new additions to the SHIELD crew, not least because Mac is pretty nice to look at. On Tumblr some people are obsessing about a "redemption" arc for Ward and I'm just going... huh??

I'd rather that Ward stay deliciously evil and frankly, he's a psychopath so I don't know how he'd be redeemed. I wouldn't mind watching his internal struggle now that his life doesn't revolve around Garrett. It seems like he's trying to make it revolve around Skye because he's always functioned as someone's satellite and doesn't know any other way to be. How he makes trouble for the team as a result is a nice side storyline for the show.
