I could just imagine the looks on the parents' faces as the movie started. Classic. And you know there was probably some R-rated previews before the movie started too.
The other thing that bugged as I watched the movie was the Christian Grey had no facial expressions. Even when he was supposed to be getting all "tough guy" with Jacob/Jose, his face was blank. During sex, his face was blank. Every interaction with Ana: blank face. I know that the character is supposed to be cool and collected, but Dornan played it: robot.
STJ really squeezed anything good out of the books and made the material as good as she could. EL James should be kissing her ass, not posturing on how she can do it better. But I am not surprised, everything I have read about her makes her sound like a supremely unpleasant person.

Well... at least there isn't any sex or sex talk until 45 minutes in. But yeah. Awkward.
I can't remember what previews we got... Maybe The Duff? Lol!

Sweet! That doesn't surprise me. There's been a dearth of cute, girly teen rom-coms and 50 Shades has been on PR overkill this week.

Huh. I did some investigating, and apparently that kind of drop off is normal for movies that open on V-day. Fifty is still going to be the number one movie this weekend. Also, Duff is performing very mildly above expectations, but expectations for this film were VERY low.
ETA: They don't think it will make more than the first Twilight.

My mother informed me she saw this over the weekend. Observations: 1. Jamie Dornan made her feel like a "dirty old lady". 2. There was too much nudity. Seriously? Did she not read the reviews? How could she not know this was about sex and nudity? It boggles the mind.
The Daily Fail is saying Dornan is out for films 2 & 3. I don't think he can get out of them, can he?
