That picture is tacky as hell. I don't care about the breast feeding, but the styling/set-up is awful and contrived. This. I've seen other photo shoots like this. Mom glammed up to the nines breastfeeding her nekkid baby. Yawn.

I like that they took a picture of her breast-feeding, but yeah the styling is terrible. I think one of my favorite celebrity breast-feeding pictures is the one Brad Pitt took of Angelina Jolie.

I take it that she's another actress who's going the "lifestyle guru" route and her son will become the most interesting thing about her. I don't think I've seen anything she's been in. I know Olivia Wilde largely by the process of elimination--I know she's too young to be the one who was the teacher in Rushmore, and I know she's not the part-Asian one who seems kind of unpleasant. I just looked up her resume, and yeah, I don't think I've ever seen her in anything, either. Holy hell, though, she's got an impressive pedigree. If acting work dries up as she ages out of the generic pretty-girl roles, I'd guess she'd be more likely to become a celebrity activist than a celebrity shill. And I just spent a solid half-hour looking at her brother-in-law's illustration work. Pretty!

I'm actually surprised that she choose to go into acting given that she's reduced to the "girlfriend role" each time. It's kind of a waste, imo.

I liked the picture even though no woman would breastfeed her naked baby. In fact, very few would have an infant out of diapers for longer than it takes to change them. However, to me, this is not so much about Olivia being proud to breastfeed her baby in public and normalizing that behavior as much as it is about reinforcing that BF is so much superior to bottle/formula feeding. You don't see a celebrity whipping out a bottle during a photo session. Women are allowed to breastfeed in public in 49 states I believe, so from a legal perspective there's nothing to be done here. BF in public has been done for ages so that's nothing new either. If the prevalent attitude in our society was that formula is better for your baby as it was 50 years ago, Olivia would have been feeding her baby out of a bottle. My first point is that she's just jumping on a bandwagon that left the station years ago. Our society believes BF/Mother milk to be superior and research so far agrees, which means that women who BF can also feel superior to the ones who cannot or will not by choice. It perpetuates the mommy wars by pitting women against one another. A lot of women cannot BF for various of reasons, but seeing celebrities glamorizing and presenting BF as the better choice it must make them feel even more terrible and guilty than they already do.
I also don't know if I should complement her for trying to normalize BF in public. I mean she's doing this during a photo shoot. Does she really BF in public? I haven't seen any pap pictures of her actually doing that which would have been more genuine and effective. Maggie Gyllenhaal breastfed her daughter in public around NYC years ago. Now that to me, speaks a lot more than a stylized picture in comfortable surroundings where there will be no one to give you dirty looks.

What the Hell Is Olivia Wilde Talking About?Apparently Olivia Wilde thinks it's just fine to lie about a dead woman. Ms. Scruggs' editor is furious at this slight to her reputation and defending her. I mean, I'm not at all surprised that Clint "OK Boomer" Eastwood decided this was a good idea. But I thought better of Wilde.

I thought better of her too, and I’m very disappointed that she’s doubling down on this. Apparently being in a Clint Eastwood awards bait movie is more important to her than the truth.

Yeah, not cool.
I've grown to like Olivia, but on a side note, I recently started following her on instagram and feel already like I need to stop. I am so sick of her gushing about Beanie Feldstein. I don't care about Beanie Feldstein and don't want to read 4,000 gushing posts about Olivia's "girl crush" on her. I know that Olivia is championing the star of the movie she directed, but FFS please tone it down. This girl is Jonah Hill's little sister, she doesn't need all of this hype.

Yeah, I like her, but her comments on her role in "Richard Jewell" are really obnoxious.
ETA: Eastwood was born in 1930, so even boomers are young compared to him.
