Am I being overly cynical because my first thought when I heard about the twins was "in vitro!"

Am I being overly cynical because my first thought when I heard about the twins was "in vitro!" No, I don't think so. It could be her age, and to be super-technical, it could be a number of things besides IVF, but...yeah. I thought her perma-gloom expression might have been tied to stress or depression about fertility issues, but she's looked like that for a while. It's not going to stop the speculation about anything, though.

Wow! So what happens if it's a boy and girl? Does Monaco allow first-born females to be the heir? The boy would be the heir. They have male preference succession in Monaco.

If it's two girls, will Andrea still accede to the throne?
Also, pardon my crudeness, but royal twins of a runaway bride is like a gold mine. BRB, going to start my own tabloid.

If it's two girls, will Andrea still accede to the throne? My understanding is that the first-born girl would be the heir unless a boy comes along later. That could get really tricky if it's a c-section though. In that case I guess it would be up to the doctor to say who was born first? I dunno.

Nothing wrong with IVF. If that's how they conceived, more power to them.
I thought the rules of succession had been changed to allow a female ruler, hence Caroline's kids being eligible for the throne.

I don't have a problem with IVF at all, but I think the implication is that Charlene and Albs are in a sad, contractual loveless marriage who only spawn through technology because they're not having relations by choice.

Something tells me Albert does not need to be in love to share his sperm. I can't imagine him not seeing that as one of her main wifely duties.

Totally true, and since the entirely world knows Albert makes productive spermz, if they did have reproductive issues, I can't imagine life would have been easy for Charlene.
