I enjoy it, I just can't follow it that well. Same here. I know the basic gist of the plot, but that's it. I too am waiting to see how David Morse ties into everything. And I did not know that Rick Springfield was playing the overly-plastic-surgeried guy until the credits rolled this week. Total shocker. Whhhaaaaaatttt? I didn't realize that! Now I'm going to have to go back and watch his scenes! I don't think the season is terrible but I loved season 2 and this is really a letdown compared to that. Season 1's mystery was engrossing, but the whole dynamic between Woody and Matt battling each other and their personal demons took it to another level. This season has lacked that kind of character development. I'm sympathetic toward the leads but I'm not overly invested.

Sorry for the double post. It's been more than a week.
Anyone have thoughts? Clearly the action is ramping up for the conclusion but I found myself confused about all the characters in play.
And Taylor Kitsch's character. I guess he's not going to recover from that second gunshot...

I'm not really up on what's going on either, except that Caspere's murder was obviously more than just business and the logical suspect right now is the girl who was orphaned in the '92 robbery, possibly in cahoots with this Tauscha woman.
I liked the slow burn between Velcoro and Bezzerides in this episode. Given how damaged and vulnerable they both are, it would have been weird if they hadn't hooked up at some point.
I don't know what's going to happen with Vince Vaughn, but I'm actually more interested in what happens to his wife.

When I saw the credits last night that said, "Rick Springfield", I turned to Mr. Spin and said, "What? Springfield? When was he on the show?" Then it did dawn on me that he was that very odd looking therapist.
The finale was just all over the place. I fast forward through the incredibly drawn out scenes that would lead up to each main character's final ending (good or bad) and it pissed me off.
Ray's kid was always his downfall, but shit, why did he AND Frank leave their cars so out in the open and unattended to both be tracked like that? Talk about your crap luck when you were *thisclose* to getting away virtually free. However, I'm glad that if Frank was going to be a goner no matter what, he wasn't about to let those punks get his suit with $3.5m worth of diamonds in it. I hope they choke on the million in cash he gave them. I'm still mad that Ray couldn't get a clear shot to take out his old Lieutenant and give him the death he so righteously deserved. But I guess in Vinci, evil always wins. Boo.

Well, the theme song was good.
That's about all I've got. It was disjointed and they kept introducing characters right up to the last minute. And we were supposed to figure out that Caspere's killer was someone we saw for a brief scene in episode 2 or 3? Please.

Well that was an epic shit show. A beautifully shot shit show, but a shit show nonetheless. And of course Ani wound up having Ray's kid. They left no cliché unturned.

At least Ani got to tell her story to a reporter, so Chessani and his cronies may not ultimately win. But there will always be someone to take their places.
I've learned not to watch this show as a whodunit murder mystery. Even with season one the ending was disappointing. Ani having Ray's baby was totally cliche and unnecessary.
The one part of the finale that totally worked was Frank's death in the desert. Great scene.

Ugh. I was sad about Ray and Frank dying, even though the show drove me crazy. I *kinda* want to watch it all over again to make sense of the 9 million details that were thrown out there, but I really don't want to invest that much time in it. I thought there were a lot of good performances, but the show overall was a mess.
I couldn't believe it when they drug out the bar singer again to move the action along through song. I liked her voice but thought it was really heavy-handed from a filmmaking perspective.
Vince Vaughn impressed me with his performance in the final episodes. I thought he was the weak link acting-wise early on, so I feel obligated to say he delivered when it counted.

When Frank's wife, Jordan says, "You can't act for shit." in the finale, I had to giggle. You got that right, girlfriend. A part of me had hoped that maybe Jordan would have been the one that had the baby and not Ani. But they messed up the majority of the show, so why not? I wonder if a season three is going to happen and if it'll just be more of the same?

The one part of the finale that totally worked was Frank's death in the desert. Great scene. I agree, that was well done all around. It's the best work Vince Vaughn did in the series and the composition of those scenes was gorgeous. The cinematographer certainly brought it for this season.
