For context.Remember when Sophie was caught on tape slagging off UK politicians, and schilling her PR business to the fake sheiks, and how they might use her and Edward's presence to promote private interests in Dubai? Far, far worse, and genuinely crass and grabby, than what H and M have ever done, or are proposing to do. Yet, the monarchy and the BRF managed to survive...

Don't forget Zara, Peter, and perennial grifter Sarah with their lucrative ties to pro-China Hong Kong businessman Johnny Hon, who "denies he is buying influence with the British establishment".

Yes, but Sophie, Zara, Peter, and Sarah are whi British, so it's all okay. I was looking at yesterday's meeting as a way the Firm could protect the Firm from those things happening again. Sophie, Zara and Peter have displayed at least some level of contrition, and Sarah will never change and that seems a likely explanation for the Prince Phillip ban.

There seems to be two schools of thought here: A) All the other royals have been in the news for doing crappy things, so leave Meghan alone. B) All the other royals have been in the news for doing crappy things, so why can't we talk about Meghan?

Yikes, just looking around at other stories less than a year ago, Sarah is still getting mysterious "loans" from offshore banks, etc, "promising" they've been paid back. :rolleyes

Well Sophie had to quit her PR business in the wake of the fake sheik scandal. She tried to be a working royal who also made their own income. The implication that her clients could buy access to the Royals by working with her and brag about hiring a HRH was seen as exploiting the Crown. It certainly begs the question how will Harry & Meghan generate a private income without being accused of doing the same?
As for Fergie, eh. At this point I don’t think anyone is going to bring her into line. Sarah is pretty much a lost cause when it comes to doing the right thing.

And only Meghan gets slammed for holding her pregnant stomach, not wearing a hat, wearing coloured nail varnish, closing her own car door, wearing wedge heels, having lily of the valley flowers in her wedding (she nearly killed Charlotte, you know), eating avocados... By all means call her out for actual crappy things. But most of these things aren't objectively crappy. They're only crappy if Meghan does them.

Must add to any motivation they have for trying to work out this current situation to everyone's satisfaction.

By all means call her out for actual crappy things. But most of these things aren't objectively crappy. They're only crappy if Meghan does them. I think people are trying to talk about the crappier things, like lying about being on a six week break so that they could leave Archie in Canada, drop a bombshell on IG without the Queen's approval/knowledge, Meghan leaving Harry to deal with the fall out, threatening a tell-all exposé if the negotiation demands aren't met, the ridiculousness of listing a break down of the money they still expect to receive from Charles in a world that is economically suffering, etc——but those conversations all seem to get derailed because the DM and Express once covered a stupid avocado story unfairly. No one cares about the avocados. At no point has there been a conversation like this: "Did you hear Meghan is stepping down from the BRF?"—"Oh yeah, you wanna hear something even crazier? She eats avocados and it's killing millions!" That's just one of those headlines the world collectively laughed at knowing the DM was being extra. The only one who can't let it go is Meghan and her lawyers, and it's that inability to laugh at the ridiculousness of it that makes people think she's a thin-skinned narcissist. That's what people made people mock it, because no one believes she's actually killing millions at breakfast.
