I can't stand it when people post shit like: "If so and so happens then I'm done with this show." Okay, fine, why tell everybody about it? You're not that important. If I don't want to watch a show, I don't watch it, I don't get on a message board and say "if blank happens, I won't watch." I have realized that I am not in the target demographic for any network, so they don't give a flying fig what I think.

I think the "I'm done with this show" line of inquiry is kind of irritating in the "nobody cares" way, but I'm sure I've used it. I used to really enjoy Ink Master, but over the last two seasons, it seems the producers have ramped up the drama and conflict, which pisses me off. On TWOP, I'm fairly sure I said something like, "if Joshua comes back, I'm out." At the time I wrote it, I was venting about the trajectory of the drama, and bringing him back would have been emblematic of everything else, and the possibility of things being rigged. I don't know if anyone cared, but on a discussion board like that, I didn't mind expressing my thoughts about the disintegration of a show I thought was interesting enough to make appointment tv. Of course, it's a Spike show, and I doubt they care about me or my demographic--I was just discussing with other viewers.
I don't get hate watching in general, but I just chalk it up to things I'm not interested in, like football or Marvel comics.

I agree with everything you said about Ink Master chonies! The only reason I don't say "I'm done with this show" is because I know that once I start watching a show, any show, 9 times out of 10 I will continue to be that show's bitch until the bitter end. Of course, nobody on a message board would know if I declared that I'm not watching a show anymore and then went ahead and watched it anyway, but for some reason I would feel guilty if I did (which I admit is kind of nutty).

It's interesting, if I was interested enough to flounce, I was probably interested enough to go back. I was a faithful Am Idol watcher for a long while, and even flounced a few times...but somewhere after Adam Lambert (not because of, just a few years after) I just stopped watching.

I'm guessing these are a lot of people who don't have anyone listening in real life to their stupid threats about TV (or probably anything else). Like I said, I can't stand the ones who constantly ask for shows to be cancelled - while watching every single minute of every show. That's good old hate watching, and I could never get into it. Especially when the only fun from it seems to be the talking they'll do about how much they hate it. That would be like me bitching about the dentist - and then making weekly appointments.

Yeah, that's a level of investment I don't understand. I consider myself a hardcore Law & Order fan, but I will also readily admit that several detective pairings mean I will go find something else to do. In contrast, some of the fans insist that a true has to "support" the show, even when you don't like it. Da fuq? No, I don't. Was I upset when it was canceled? Hell yes. Do I actively wish it were back because of truly WTF headlines begging to be ripped? On the daily. But I have never confused the show with a pet or a friend going through a difficult time, who needed to be loved even if I didn't like it.

I 'fess up to hate-reading the Elisabeth Hasselbeck thread on here. I do, too! But I don't watch the source material, and there's a small yet meaningful difference, according to moi.

It bums me out the lack of recaps on the site. And the ones there are mostly reality TV it seems.
