Well, I can no longer read posts on the This Is Us thread. The pro-Kevin fans are incessant (I'm completely neutral on the whole Kevin/Randall storyline), but I posted something about how I enjoyed the growth of Kate's character, and someone makes a fat joke about how Kate should stop growing. Eww, gross.

Well, I can no longer read posts on the This Is Us thread. Eww, gross. Is This is Us back on TV or are you reading old threads? I'd love some new programming, but didn't think the show was back. I've gotten a bit fed up with the outrage on the Dancing with the Stars section and their fixation with Tyra Banks. I'm in 100% agreement that Tom Bergeron was a great, affable, and quick-witted live TV host, so I wouldn't have fired him either, but Tyra didn't personally fire him. And she's not great, but she's also such a minuscule part of the total show that I can't relate to the hysteria about her "ruining the show." |

Yes, there was a two hour premier last night. It was the first network show I have watched since the pandemic. It will return the week after the election.

I'm in 100% agreement that Tom Bergeron was a great, affable, and quick-witted live TV host, so I wouldn't have fired him either, but Tyra didn't personally fire him. And she's not great, but she's also such a minuscule part of the total show that I can't relate to the hysteria about her "ruining the show." Bagging on Tyra and her terrible hosting and unflattering outfits has been the funnest part of this season for me. My favorite is during eliminations when she gets overwhelmed trying to shuffle her index cards and listen to the instructions from her earpiece at the same time, and starts yelling "They're in my ear! They're in my ear!" at people. There's no way that big screwup where she announced that the eliminated couple were safe wasn't all her fault. My other favorite is every week, right before she announces the last safe couple she will say, "And the last safe couple, in no particular order, is..." You don't say "in no particular order" when you are announcing only one thing! And she does it every single week. If she wanted to tell people that the safe couples are being announced in no particular order, the time to say that is before announcing couples, not when there is only one left. But yeah, she's not wrecking the show. The show is going into the crapper because most of the best pro dancers have left, they aren't giving anyone enough rehearsal time to learn a decent dance, and most of the celebrities are D-list. |
