I never really noticed cubfin, but there are a few obnoxious people who post in those food reality show competition forums. You'd think they own those threads. Hahahaha.

Well, this little exchange happened...

There was one poster (I forget who) who always referred to Mika as MPG (Miss ***** Galore), that always made me smile.



So we can't use Mika's nickname but the main rule of PTV is "don't be a dick"? So one slang word for genitalia is a pejorative but another one isn't?

We're asking you to take a look at this in terms of context. We don't call people 'dicks' per se, rather we call the behavior dickish. Which is quite different from nicknaming someone with an unpleasant word and thereby referring to them as such all the time, no matter how it originated.

I think the future of the site is looking grim if this is their defense. And it's a thread that has like 5 people tops ever even talking in.

There are so many loopholes and potential inconsistencies in this rule. What would Justin Timberlake be referred to in PTV world? Punkass-ish bitchy behavior guy? Yeah, doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

I see 2 posters are now mods at PTV. I normally would not care. But one has made some offensive comments IMO. She mostly posts in the southern charm and Atlanta Ho wives thread. Well that's where I have seen her. I guess I'll be skipping those threads.

I shouldn't be so quick to judge. I just hope they can set aside grievances they had with other posters. I guess, I should do the same.

I wonder if PTV will really take off. I say this because I wonder about the future of message boards themselves. I think they were very popular in the days when people had slow Internet connections; but now so many people have high speed connections, which makes Twitter so popular, folks now live tweet while TV shows are on. Also, message boards were and are frequented by those of us who wish to maintain a level of anonymity on the Internet; today that seems to be the opposite, I saw an ad on the subway a few weeks ago for YouTube, which basically said, 'get on YouTube, become famous, have millions of followers."

Not a cool kid, but I like the AV Club for recaps. They don't do every show, but their recaps are a good read because they analyze and get to the point quickly. In other words, Jacob doesn't work for them.

Yep, A.V. Club has some of the best writers around.
