It's fully possible that a lot of separate issues were at work in their marriage, and that his traveling and her substance abuse both contributed. I have read a lot on other sites that Anna sometimes sounds under the influence during her podcasts, but that's the only thing I've ever heard that backs up Lainey's blind item which she's obviously very proud of right now.

The story for now appears for now to be - she wanted more kids and to be more settled, he didn't due to his career.

There's an episode of How Did This Get Made where Anna was the guest (it's the Grease 2 episode) that was honestly a little cringy. I wouldn't say it's hard evidence of her having a substance abuse problem, but it was pretty obvious she was under the influence of something and I found it grating, not funny. She does seem like a sweet person, though. It's sad, but maybe they will both be happier.

Addicts do their best to hide their addictions. When it gets to the point that people are noticeably under the influence while doing their jobs or in public, I assume that the person is in bad shape with an addiction that has gotten out of control. See also: Ben Affleck and Jessica Simpson.

They both seem pretty sloppy to me. If he wasn't in a Marvel movie I couldn't really see his movie career going past the horrendous Jurrasic Park reboot. He's blandy bland for me. Like if zuchinni was an actor. I see him having the career trajectory of Gerard Butler.

I actually think it was that Jurassic Park movie that solidified his movie stardom because it was so hugely successful (biggest movie opening of all time IIRC, followed by several weeks at #1). Most of those Marvel actors don't do anything of note outside of the Marvel movies.

I think he will milk the Marvel and Jurassic movies for as much money as he can get then will probably ride out the rest of his career doing B list action thrillers and dumb comedies. I hated Passengers, but I really liked the Magnificent 7 remake, though mostly for Denzel and Ethan Hawke.
I'm not a big fan of Anna Farris's style of comedy. I think the huge shift in their levels of fame plus other pressures probably did them in. Isn't her character on Mom a recovering alcoholic? If she's having issues with substance abuse I hope she gets help.
Their little boy is adorable and it's clear from their social media that they adore him. I hope they can work out a good coparenting arrangement. He was a premie and had to stay in NICU for quite some time. I can understand Chris being hesitant to try for another after that experience, even though that hasn't been mentioned as a factor.

I was all pro-Anna (see what I did there) but I just listened to the episode of How Did This Get Made referenced above and, yeah, Anna was a feeewwww cups in. I can relate to that too though so, I am not gonna pot call kettle black. ;-) |

I've read quite in a few places that on numerous occasions that Anna has sounded wasted and / or high. If true maybe chris has been supportive behind the scenes but at the end of the day you have to make a choice to be sober and perhaps she couldn't so he walked.
If the baby issue is true maybe she saw having another kid as a fix to their issues and he saw having another kid with someone struggling to stay sober as a horrible idea.
It could be that her loneliness and his skyrocketing career caused the drinking to be an issue but at the end of the day it's on her to decide to get sober.
It's shitty all around I'm sure. If it's true that she has a substance abuse problem then he looks like dick for leaving her and she'll get flack for being a wife and a mom who is an addict. So I suppose the stories that are floating around about the split are more palatable to both.
