Anna commented on his post, congratulating them and saying she was happy.

I don’t like him. I think he seems like a total creep that hides behind his bible. And that engagement pic is sooooo extra with the closed, prayerful eyes.

I’m glad he’s lost his looks/ hairline a bit since his Guardians/ Jurassic period. 😬

His 'Sweet Katherine' tweet makes me cringe so hard. It gave me the vibe they were aiming to be the new Jan and Paul Crouch. Katherine's ASPCA connections really don't connect with Chris' documented attitudes toward animals. At least Jan Crouch allegedly misappropriated $100,000 for an air conditioned mobile home solely for her dogs.

Katherine is a huge animal lover and Chris has pets and then gets tired of them and dumps them. I hope she doesn't change for him and her family keeps her grounded.

Maybe he'll rub off on her enough that she gets tired of him and dumps him.

If she were a member of PETA, I would say that's not compatible with Chris's views about animals because he's very pro-hunting. ASPCA is against animal cruelty. I think this stuff about Chris Pratt and animals is really overblown.
The dog belonged to Anna, who adopted him and had him for 5 years. When her son turned out to be allergic, Anna re-homed him to what she thought was a good home. It turned out not to be, and the dog was found on the street. Anna violated her adoption agreement by re-homing the dog herself instead of bringing it back to the shelter and she paid the $5k fine, but she didn't "abandon" the dog. Also, all the stories very clearly indicated that this was Anna's dog, Anna's adoption, and Anna's decisions.
As for the cat, I've been in the position of having to deal with a very old and incontinent cat and it's not something you can just live with. I do not believe Pratt was serious when he tweeted, "Hey, anybody want a cat?" but even if he were, it's not like asking around on the internet about re-homing is some new or horrible thing. It's not possible to mention anything on social media about animals without a bunch of judgmental people criticizing you and I think that's why Chris flew off the handle. That's a social media error, not an act of animal cruelty. I think he learned a lot from that about not responding to social media pushback.
As for the hunting, I eat meat and somebody needs to kill that meat. I don't admire the urge to hunt as a hobby, but he seems to be a responsible hunter. I know a lot of them IRL and I don't treat them like pariahs.

That's a fair assessment. I've recently referred to my dog's medical issues in ways that sound unkind; I didn't know about the details of the dog and cat incidents.
Most of the hunters I know here are guys who like to hang out with their families in the woods and day drink and rarely get a shot off. I think canned trophy hunting is gross and a different ethical issue and mindset than hunting deer, duck, or elk; I learned a neighbor recently went bear hunting and I never want to speak to her again, but that's me being speciesist.
