She's on the show Rizzoli and Isles on TNT which looks entertaining but I can't stand watching Angie Harmon in anything so it is a pass.

I like Chris, his acting, and his movies so far. But speaking as a radical leftist Jewish-Atheist heathen, I always get a teeny bit annoyed when I know that an actor's background is "conservative Christian." It's just because "conservative Christian" (while I know many and are great people) usually stands for, in the political arena, "I'm going try to limit your freedom of self-expression and what you can do with your own body."
So, yeah. I rather not know. I think I would die of shock if anyone famous were to claim they are against war, social injustice, and environmental destruction, as a religious Christian. (No, Pope Francis doesn't count).

So, yeah. I rather not know. I think I would die of shock if anyone famous were to claim they are against war, social injustice, and environmental destruction, as a religious Christian. (No, Pope Francis doesn't count). Martin Sheen seems to fit that bill and is famously catholic, though he'd never identify himself as conservative. And one of the many things I'll miss about the Colbert Report was that Stephen Colbert liked to talk about religion and gave liberal Christianity some shine to counter Fox Newsy types. I do have more of a knee-jerk reaction to the "conservative" identifier, but am willing to wait until Chris Pratt says something overtly douchy.

Many religious Catholics are, by and large, conscious of social justice issues, you're right. My BFF's dad is super Catholic (pro-life, etc.) but suspicious of corporate power and sympathetic to the plight of the poor. I was thinking of religious protestant, even evangelical, Christians embracing leftist views -- something which would surprise me.
Anyway, yeah, I will have no problem with Chris until he says something douchy. But that basically goes for any celeb. He's just gonna come under the public eye a lot more because he's superstar now. Next couple of years should be interesting: is he going to be an uncontroversial everyman like Hugh Jackman or is he going to try to assert his POV in the media a bit more? I think when celebs start making a lot of money and are adored by the movie-going public, some take that as a go-ahead to air their really shitty (or even not-so-shitty) opinions. They think famous = important. See: Vince Vaughn's recent comments about gun control. WTF. Shut up, you douche.

I really hope that Chris keeps his opinions to himself, allowed them ofcourse but say it to your wife and family I don't need to hear them.

Well, he appears to be very well-liked by all of his co-stars, from Parks and Rec to Jurassic and beyond, so I'm guessing he can't be overly outspoken with his views (and I'm also guessing that despite the "conservative Christian" label, that he is quite socially progressive), or else there's no way he'd be as embraced by his cast members who surely lean more left.
Again, maybe it's because I'm a registered Independent, but I'd be just as happy if no celebs, regardless of party, pontificated on political issues. It seems like Chris has a very healthy and smart approach to fame (and sense of self), and I don't see him pulling an Alec Baldwin or Vince Vaughn anytime soon. I really think he's just too savvy (in the best of ways) to do it. I also suspect that he knows that people don't want to hear it.

I get the feeling he's more socially progressive when using the "conservative Christian" label, too.
What bothers me is how the term "conservative" is used these days. (I do not think you know what that word means./Inigovoice) To me, it could just be that as a Christian, he has certain guidelines in his life that would be considered "straight-laced" or whatever. I'm Christian, with some conservative ideals but having a much more liberal way of thinking.
Eh, he still gets a pass for me. I've never heard him prattle on (HA!) about his faith, beliefs or whatever to give excuse to actions or to justify something. Saying that you prayed for your premature baby and were so thankful to God for his ultimate recovery is not preachy, but grateful. I think he and Anna are laid back and all knowing that they've been blessed with what they've been given and will continue to put out good in the world. Chris does so much for children's hospitals around the country and various other charities, I can't help but adore his enthusiasm and willingness to bring joy to others where joy is scarce.

Old news. If you ever see a post about either of them on the Daily Mail, just about every comment is a variation of "PIECE OF SHIT ANIMAL ABUSER BURN IN HELL."
