Anna and Chris have both done lengthy interviews with Kevin Pollack which are on youtube. She seemed like someone very level-headed who has always navigated the middle rungs of the entertainment industry ladder and seems ok with it. She did say at one point that she had kind of given up on her career and thought about just letting Chris be the breadwinner, and then “Mom” came along and worked out really well for her. I think she’s happy where she is.
Side note: Anna did a hilarious and dead-on impression of Sofia Coppola that was not intended to be derogatory, but…

My Facebook feed has several links and likes to an interview where Pratt confirms that he is a conservative and a Christian, that he and his wife prayed a lot when their child was born prematurely, and that when the baby turned out okay, it affirmed his strong faith in God, "not that it needed affirming".
He is definitely the current A-list top dog.

I always figured, from his hunting and guns comments, that he leaned right. Eh. I'm not even close to conservative, and I'm not a Christian, (and FTR, I find hunting really unseemly ) but then, there are also plenty of other actors whose politics I disagree with on the other side of the far-leaning left aisle, and I can still enjoy their performances. For ex, I disagree with Matt Damon on some things. I'll still watch the Bourne series anytime it's on TV.
I think I've just reached a point in life where I can recognize that someone's belief system doesn't have to align with mine for me to appreciate him or her.
So Chris, I'm still here if you want me! (My husband adores you too, so we're cool.)

As long as Pratt doesn't complain that he's always called racist when he makes (racist) Obama jokes, or complain about Hollywood persecuting conservatives as if they are a downtrodden minority, he will stay out of my Angie Harmon Zone of Permanent Hatred.
I really like Pratt, but I have to admit that the hunting and conservatism keep me from crushing on him because that's not my type.

OT: funny you mention Angie Harmon, Ginger, because I saw her today at The Container Store.
Cool story, I know.

I'm not bothered by the conservative Christian thing as long as he's not giving "guns and Jesus and straight, white males are so oppressed" interviews on Fox News. He's entitled to his beliefs and opinions as long as he's not a jerk about them, but that pretty much applies to everyone whether I agree with them or not.

Exactly. Alec Baldwin is a "big D" democrat and, incidentally, a "big D" dick. I don't root for that motherfucker in any way even when our beliefs frequently align. Chris projects a lot of decency, that's all that matters to me.

I think he is smart enough that he won't rock the boat. He understands that he is paid to entertain not talk about his beliefs.

mementomori: Agreed on Alec Baldwin. He's one of those ones who makes me want to scream "get off my side! You're not helping!" lea1977: I agree. At the very least, he doesn't seem like the guy who is socially incompetent enough to ram his beliefs down peoples' throats. He gives the impression of being nice enough not to be boorish about it when confronted with people whose ideas don't align with his. I try to be that person, but you'll have to ask my relatives and co-workers if I succeed or not.
