Maybe you can "disappear" after the film, CK!
The mister's employer gives you a sum of money to cover the celebration when you pass a milestone anniversary, and one of our friends from the company is having hers next week at a movie theater that serves dinner at your seat. We're seeing this movie. I'm looking forward to it. We just passed through the part of the world in which the movie's set a couple of days ago on our way home from a family wedding, actually.

Several friends who have read the book are completely uninterested in seeing the movie with me. I have not read the book, only seen the previews, but it looks really interesting. Now Im not sure if I should pay to see it or wait til it hits netflix.

Why are your friends not interested? I'm curious, everyone is know who has read the book really wants to see it. Is it the casting? Or are they just burned by bad adaptations?
Sunny, there are theatres that serve dinner? Is this before the movie, or during? I'm jealous. And intrigued.

In my experience, it's during, although you usually order before the picture starts, or during previews. It's really fun.
I'm really interested in seeing this, too, although I was lukewarm about the book until it settled a bit. I'm also delighted to read about the diminished presence of Andie.

One said she hated the book, another said she didn't think Ben could pull of the role and another just groaned when I suggested we go see it. And how do you not have a theatre that serves dinner? You are missing out? Nothing like a waitress bringing a refill to you mid movie.

I've never been to one, either, although this is not surprising in light of the fact that I get to a movie theater maybe every three years. (The last film I saw in one was Skyfall, for anyone who's interested.)

I made my friend read this (OK, "made" is a strong word) and she kept blabbing on about how she couldn't see Affleck as Nick. I said, "Dude. Smarmy, smiling-through-his-teeth, and thinks very highly of himself? COME ON." Then she saw the trailer and said, "Oh. Yep. Can definitely see it." haha. Dammit. I wanna go to a movie/dinner theater! There's a really great one in my hometown that I miss dearly. And I won't be able to see this until next week, so I'm just gonna hop on outta this thread until then.

Reviews so far are top of the line, with Oscar talk for Rosamund. Can't wait!

The film critic I heard this morning said he hadn't read the book, so had no idea how the story would turn out. Because of that, he said he was at the edge of his seat for the entire movie. He gave it 4 1/2 stars out of 5.
So I'm thinking it might be even more awesome not knowing the story.
