AKA my new TV crack, if the pilot episode was anything to go by. Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson head up the cast and its debut ratings were the highest Fox has seen in three years. I did like that the show, although gloriously soapy, has elements (race, homophobia, family relations, and social class) that dig deeper than you'd expect. Henson is incredible as Cookie Lyon is a force to be reckoned with and the Timbaland-supervised music is really good too. Plus there's the promise of some crazy-ass guest stars: Naomi Campbell! They are pulling no punches/ Taraji had me cringing and cheering. She takes no shit off any of them. My mother loves Terrence and was quoting lines and describing things he did. And this was just the pilot.

I loved it. I'm so glad Taraji keeps getting meaty roles that she can sink her teeth into.

Just watched the pilot on demand. Immediately came here to see if you all were discussing it. Taraji is the bomb. As if I need another tv addiction, but I'm all in with this one.

Love it. Saw an extended preview on OnDemand a few weeks back and it made me even more excited than just seeing the regular commercials for it. I'm in. Hope it stays as good as the premiere.

Count me in as a fan of the show. The scene where he threw the little boy in the garbage can for pretending to be a girl broke my heart.Taraji is amazing. I hope the great rating don't slide.
