I'm assuming the astronaut will do a capsule plunge to Earth, a la Sandra Bullock in Gravity. Since it's a silly sitcom, I also assume the capsule will plunge into the ocean right off the coast of Malibu within sight of the other survivors. And just to get even more sitcomy, let's say Phil has just left the group to start over elsewhere because he and Phil2 just can't co-exist. Since Phil2 is having a baby with what's-her-name, most of the group stays behind to help with that. Maybe one of them has medical skills, just to add to the "why we're staying" theory. Phil and Carol leave, the astronaut lands, the group rescues him, and after several days they learn - Holy Coincidence, Batman! - that he is Phil's brother. But alas, they have no idea where he went. My post sounds very sarcastic, but I do actually like the show.  |

It's looks as if you were right about Astronaut Miller plunging to earth.
I liked the episode - at least something happened.

I was hoping Astronaut Miller would see Carol's Griswaldian Xmas display and aim the escape pod towards Malibu.

It starts up again on 3/6. I just hope they don't kill off Phil for real. They could write him out several ways if the actor isn't available.
