I clicked on a link to this story earlier, and for some reason started reading the comments. Why do I do this? "She's fat." "I hope she gets killed in a drive by shooting." !!!!! Then a bunch of nimrod comments about how she wants to "COME TAKE OUR GUNS!!!!!" Yes, I'm sure Amy Schumer is going to go door-to-door to collect guns.

Sometimes I think maybe I should start pushing mr. 76 to look into the London office...

Everyday there is some law or bullshit that happens in either the state we live in or our country that makes us want to take up residence on the moon.

Mr. Spin bugs me however with the gun law shit. I can't quite tell if he's misguided about the background checks or the right to carry (and the types of guns one should even really own), but seriously, this doesn't happen in tons of other countries like ever. EVER! Inquiring minds, yo.

Keep being the badass that you are, Amy! She's my new girl crush.

I hope this doesn't sound corny, but I'm really proud of Amy. She had something really terrible lobbed in her lap and she picked it up and ran with it and isn't afraid of all the flack that is definitely going to come her way. She has huge balls. Go Amy.

The gun lobby has very cleverly framed the subject of gun ownership as an absolute right that can't have restrictions of any kind. The truth of the matter is that ALL guaranteed constitution rights have some restrictions.

For instance, you have the right to free speech, but you aren't allowed to stand up in a crowded theater and yell, "fire!" Yet the NRA wants the gun manufacturers to sell as many guns as possible and they do so by implying that any gun control laws are an attack on freedom and that government people are coming to take your guns. They live by and even thrive on fear.

The NRA used to be in favor of background checks. But as the gun lobby grew more and more powerful, they became more and more rigid. Now they give no ground on anything and target politicians who propose even the smallest restrictions.

I honestly believe that some NRA mouth pieces would argue that a private citizen has the right to own a tank or a flame thrower just because they want one. Sanity has left the conversation as politicians genuflect to this super powerful organization.

The NRA will come after Amy. They will try to destroy her as they do to anyone who opposes them.

I didn't like Trainwreck but love her tv show. I feel like she could make the biggest piece of crap ever made in film or TV, but I will forever give her a pass because of her speaking out on this.

I saw her live last weekend, and I now love her even more than before, which I didn't think was possible. I highly recommend seeing her if you ever get the chance. I laughed until I cried. It makes me so happy that someone like her is so famous right now, like it gives me hope for the world. Actually she kept referencing her "15 minutes" and saying the audience should be excited that we got to see her while she's "actually famous... this is it, guys!" She killed it.
