Now, really. Ellen may be the lamest comedian out there, but Pat Robertson should have picked on Richard Simmons. Clearly, God smited N.O. because of his shiny tank tops, not because Ellen is hosting the Emmys. Teh pseudo-religious stupid, it stings.

You do know datelinehollywood.com is a farce site? But I appreciate you starting this thread, borborygmus, because I love her!

I love her too! I really enjoy her show and she seems nice although I've heard (on fametracker) that she's difficult to work with. And that's.... all I have to contribute to this thread.

Her Allure interview is probably the most moving celebrity interview I've ever read. Maybe my cold, black heart was on vacation, but she just seemed so real and down-to-earth.

I love Ellen. She seems to be a geniunely nice person. Does she still have her chat show? I only ever saw a clip of it online (no idea if it was ever shown in the UK), but it looked really funny.

We just finally got her show on in this area. I guess the Bible Belt folks didn't want to see a lesbian sitting at a table chatting with celebs, but after Jane Pauley's daytime show tanked, our local ABC affiliate finally decided to pick it up.
It's on the same time as Oprah though, which makes for a tough decision for me.

You do know datelinehollywood.com is a farce site? OK, but... he is stupid, and he did say those asinine things about 9/11 being the fault of the feminists, gays, and the ACLU... seemed plausible even though I know that God would never watch the Emmys. (God watches The Daily Show.) Ellen's schtick is to seem like a good-natured person, but again, I don't think she really is, and she's not all that funny. Her romantic life puzzles me. It's like she's 13, and every woman she falls for is THE LOVE OF HER LIFE, 2GETHER 4EVAH!!! She's kind of like a gay JLo. Grow the hell UP, already. And then, well... she unceremoniously dumped the one before Portia, which seemed kind of mean. And then there was crazy Anne Heche. Oy. The dancing bugs a bit, too. LOOK at ME, I'm such a big ol' NERD!

I've seen her doing stand up live a few times and I love her. Re: her romantic life. We've known of three serious replationships she's been in (four, if you read her book). That doesn't seem like all that many for a 40-something year old person. What's puzzling?

I don't think it's puzzling. But I do think what she did to her lover before Portia was really mean.
Then agian, I don't know what went on. But they were proclaiming their love, blah blah blah. Then all of sudden, she's stepping out with Portia.
I like her, but she does seem pretty immature.
