Philosophically, what's the difference between tacky and trashy?  One thing that rang a bell--when Victoria got married, weren't there grumblings that having a father give a bride away is neither a Swedish tradition nor a modern Swedish value? Sofia's father (or someone paternal-seeming, missed the detail) walked her down the nave, so I don't know what I'm missing. If I hadn't had another Greecie fill me in on the back story, I would have thought it was kind of tacky, with moments that ranged between cringy and dull, but now I don't know. The carriage ride was ridiculous, too. I really did like the giggles when the people in the cathedral, including CP and Sof heard the crowds outside. |

Carl-Philip couldn't even bother to shower or shave, apparently - he looked absolutely disgusting. I think he gets away with whatever he wants because his father wanted him to be the heir and now lets him do what he wants. Sofia is so inappropriate as a "princess" but is probably exactly the right level of intelligence, class and trashiness for him - bottom of the barrel. He's an idiot. She's the smart one for snagging him.

Carl-Gustav was against absolute primogeniture? Wow. Poor Victoria.
I personally prefer royals to be kind of trashy, so while I feel for the better-behaved family members, I find this kind of exciting. Is Sofia a truly terrible person, or is she just Not Royal? I don't think nude modeling is awful, but if she's grasping, racist, bigoted or willingly ignorant, that's different.

She's the smart one for snagging him. Everything that happened yesterday was appropriate for a party prince with no motivation in life and his wife who used to do soft porn and nude pics. The foreign royals left after the reception and didn't stay for the after party, which didn't end until 6 am Swedish time. This is what CG's acquiescence to his son has brought to the Swedish royal family. I'd say he deserves all the ridicule these two will bring for favoring CP over Victoria. And can I say the saddest part of yesterday was Victoria crying from the time she sat down until the wedding ended. Whether she was crying for the monarchy, her country, or something else going on with her, it was a sad hallmark on this "blessed" event. All that's to say...congratulations, Princess Sofia, Duchess of Varmland, you have made it! |

I think it's the most awesome in the world for potential snarking. His sisters, both allegedly and by photographic evidence, apparently, disapprove (I hesitate to use the word "hate" of course, it probably goes down to a gut instinct) which makes for fun analysis of Swedish royal events from here on out. |

The whole wedding looked very very budget. His suit/uniform wasn't even properly tailored! And her dress was just unflattering to her lower half.
Traditionally, I have only been interested in the BRF, but these other houses are stepping up to the plate lately.
