Tori Spelling

I don't watch any of her shows and now I'm curious. Has she ever addressed her spending issues? Talked about getting a financial planner? Whined about her inheritance?

I have watched many of her shows and read maybe half her books. She has discussed finances but it is hard to tell exactly how truthful she is being and she often puts a spin on it like its a lovable foible- "lol! Look at my impulsive spending and hoarding, I'm like a spoilt 15 year old with their first credit card! tee hee!" Whenever things seem to really start to get to any point of vulnerability she seems to revert back to a front that everything is okay.

She did talk about the inheritance being less than expected, disproportionate to her father's wealth, etc, but that her father was out of touch with money at the point of creating the will and really thought he was setting her and Randy up for life. Her first reality show was all about 'buying' a bed and breakfast with the inheritance, but then it turned out it was just being leased and it was just for the show. She has also shown her storage unit at various points in her various reality shows, and commented that the monthly expense of it is akin to a mortgage. The first time it was shown was apparently to empty it and sell the contents but then there it all was 7 or 8 years later in another reality show. She admits that moving frequently is a huge expense but hasn't gone into a lot of detail as to why they move. She's explained it sometimes- they moved from this house because the neighbours didn't like the reality show being filmed, they moved from that house when they decided they wanted more space for animals, they moved from this house when they decided having kids share a room wasn't working. But it seems at some point that moving involved an end to home ownership and a switch to renting. Maybe this was at the same time they started being pursued for debts.
I seem to remember one show (maybe True Tori) having them meet with a financial planner, discussing how they couldn't even afford for Dean to have a vasectomy, and tears (and maybe bad acting) from Tori about how she has to maintain her lifestyle because she worked so hard for it. But I also remember that being something she was questioned on after the show went to air and she implied their financial woes were exaggerated for the show.
My gut feeling from following her social media is that they probably live a fancy by fragile existence. She does paid promotions several times a week and seems to be on vacation about 50% of the time, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are living the rich version of paycheque to paycheque and that her mother is probably paying rent + school fees.

Does Planned Parenthood offer vasectomies too? I know they offer tubal ligation.

I realize the responsibility of birth control shouldn't fall solely on women, but in Tori's case, they have a lot of kids and seem to be living the richer version of "hand-to-mouth." If I had been her and my husband was dragging his ass on getting a vasectomy, or claiming he can't afford it, I would get my tubes tied. I wouldn't keep having kids I can't afford, plus it's hard on the body. In the long run, having kids costs more than any kind of birth control. I don't understand the logic being used here.

I don't think it's the number of kids that is at the root of her financial issues. I'm sure even if she had 1 or 2 children she'd still be just as irresponsible and profligate with her spending. To me, it reads as an emotional issue, maybe even an addiction.

Yeah, I remember that. But I think that was likely just fake drama added in for the sake of the reality show....I take everything on reality shows with a major grain of salt. But I'm cynical like that, lol.

In the True Tori ep, Dean was very reluctant because he wasn't sure he was done and he wanted to experience parenting while sober. They also both said that making babies is a very significant part of their connection, and Tori said she was afraid to close the chapter on that stage of their life because of how it might affect their relationship. That struck me as honest. They did build a lot of their relationship around babymaking, even having a sign made up that said 'McDermott Baby Farm established 200-'whatever it was. Tori seemed to pride herself on being able to give him lots of babies after he and his first wife had experienced secondary infertility and eventually explored adoption. As much as young children are a huge stress to a relationship they are also an effective distraction because they keep you so busy. As long as they had young kids he would feel needed and grounded in the home and she thought he would stick around.

This was pre-Beau, their fifth/his sixth.

At that point they had four kids together, so why couldn't he parent the ones he already had sober? That seems pretty ridiculous to me.

But he needs the experience of getting up in the middle of the night sober to feed a baby! Not just helping a dull 9 year old when sober and do math and shit.

Tori and Dean may or may not be getting divorced. Us Weekly said they were, now says they're not, People says they are, the Hindustan Times has an opinion on it (so random), so who knows?

I'm just waiting for the reality show.
